    Britrail

More expensive, yes. But much, much easier to use. It's an eticket so a single .pdf download works everywhere (yep, even on "no etickets" Merseyrail). If you do lots of boards/alights -- like I do: 338 in 31 days this last June -- it's much easier than having to input each individual journey on...

Nuneham Viaduct shut - Didcot- Oxford

I’m on 2L09 1455 Oxford-Didcot Parkway. Just passed over the viaduct; looks like there’s a 50mph TSR in place.

Rover tickets and their use after midnight on weekdays.

Sleeper.scot says,"Britrail / Inter-Rail / Eurail / FIP Coupons will need to be valid on the date you arrive in your destination but not necessarily on the date you join the train for departures before midnight." Odd that it's different for ALRs.

    Lost railcard- Caledonian Sleeper

Maybe they're making that assumption or maybe the steward just forgot. You can book a Room Supplement reservation without having to show proof that you have a valid travel ticket. But I take your point; it would be the height of brazenness to travel with just a Room Supplement and no travel ticket!

    Lost railcard- Caledonian Sleeper

On a recent trip the steward at Euston checked my Room Supplement reservation as I got onboard. However, over the entire Euston-Fort William journey, no-one checked whether I had a valid travel ticket (I had a valid Britrail Pass).

    Rovers issued with QR codes

That's the one (I think; they weren't too clear about it) that they seemed to direct me to. Following the discussion, I briefly stopped by there but didn't immediately see any barcode readers on the gates there. I may have just missed them, though.

    Rovers issued with QR codes

Short answer - no problems. Over the years I have used various types of BritRail pass on all TOCs except Lumo. Long answer - only issues I've had were minor issues with TfL staff: - at Moorgate a staff member insisted that the M-Pass had to be printed out in order to be valid - at Euston, staff...

    Rovers issued with QR codes

Just completed a full month (31 days to be precise) on a BritRail M-Pass. As with other posters here, I had no problem at all with on-train acceptance but scanning at gatelines almost always failed. In fact, gateline acceptance was worse than when I last used a M-Pass three years ago. At that...

Potential rail improvements around Aberdeen and North East Scotland

The Azuma service I’m currently on (1E13 0755 Inverness-London Kings Cross) switched over on the move between Dunblane and Bridge of Allan.

Think I saw one at Millbrook too. Also currently covered in plastic.

Creation of class 230 DEMUs from ex-LU D78s by Vivarail

I didn’t get the impression it was being driven aggressively in an attempt to keep to time. If anything, crew seemed to be handling it pretty gently. Probably new braking points to work out.

Into P6 at BLY when booked for P5, so not sure what’s happening there. Crew says it’s remaining in service.

Yes. Arriving shortly at BLY. 22L off FEN, having started 11L at BDM.

LNWR staff have already broken it! One of the inter-car door handles came off in their hand.
