Aslef strikes over Trains Modernisation plan

And what nonsense project will they be moved on to now? There are so many now that lack experience of running public transport operations that I don’t believe they are interested in fixing actual problems

Moorgate as a London Terminal when travelling on Thameslink Northern Route (Bedford/Luton)

Barbican and Farringdon have the same local pool of LU staff. All LU staff get the dismal input on acceptance of national rail tickets. Barbican can be left unstaffed and open. In which case there will be no need to show a ticket. Whilst it’s fairly simple to just let someone in and out at...

Because they’re mostly covered in acid etch graffiti so the vinyls can’t be applied and Any vinyl application would not last long because of this

'Severe delays on the Bakerloo Line'

In regards to Chesham, one of their other tricks to kill is to show the line as a good service and that Chesham is closed

'Bumping' - is it becoming a serious problem?

I told a group to leave the other day. Claimed to have no money but had a load of milkshakes and snacks. They left. Someone the other day followed behind someone, told to leave and then pointed out their card wasn’t working. Then showed transaction and there was a penalty for failed revenue...

If you see something dangerous on a line, who to call?

I have actually seen the data from an iPhone 999 call and the mapping generated and transposed to what three words was spot on. To a new build house with very few other details. I’ve also had when mast data said a phone was in a town 15 miles away. And finally, I have had to call NR emergency...

    Bizarre morning on Thameslink (15/11)

I could only hear the conversation in front of me (I have a professional reason to, in case they then need some assistance, and many of the revenue are familiar faces to me) and the ticket was scanned, then the railcard was asked for and then the revenue said that the ticket had been bought...

    Bizarre morning on Thameslink (15/11)

On Sunday in the similar area, two revenue boarded the same compartment. They had to speak with four of the people who had invalid tickets and one who had bought the ticket via an app just as they arrived. The revenue staff member explained very clearly what had been done wrong! I had a chat...

Four lines modernisation closures - Saturday 11th November

Friday was actually very busy. Moreso than normal. If going to go for peculiar closures, how about Sunday evening to Monday afternoon. Someone will always be affected

    Door position marking on platforms

Underground trains do have to stop within a defined area, even within a conventional signalling area, to have the correct side door enable system function.

Would you travel in a driverless taxi.

I have used a driverless (unattended) taxi and felt safer than in a driven taxi (Uber). There were some moments when I would have stopped or slowed before the driverless vehicle or when it wasn’t satisfied with where to stop to let me out.

Nothern Line: Scary situation, doors did not open

Two problems now are complexity of the stock means the usual cut out doesn’t work and or there is another issue And if no doors closed visual and door is open, the station is unstaffed or would have to close in case of mandated numbers
