Long or high railway bridges you can walk over

IIRC the Leven viaduct between Lancashire and Westmoreland had a day when you could walk over it. It was Christmas day but I think that you could only go from Arnside to Grange, keeping right line running! The path is still on the bridge but I'm not sure if you can still do the walk. Does this...

Hello all, as you may be able to tell I'm not used to traveling around London, do you have to get some sort of ticket to use your debit care to touch in / out? I've had a look at my rough plot and no times are over 1 hour. I've just had a word with my mate and he's going to Barking Riverside...

Please help - likelihood of going to court— QUICK UPDATE.

Just for my own knowledge, in the first post the OP mentions the following, The part that I can't understand is why would he be PF for setting the return date a day ahead (the next day)? As he could not reuse the ticket as the outward portion would then have the wrong date (the day before). If...

    TROUBLE WITH TFL

They are very good points. If it has shown on here twice how many more people could it possibly happen to.

Trivia- most circuitous route between closest stations.

I'm guessing that this should be discounted for the same reason as Shotton, see up thread. But a good shout.

Trivia- most circuitous route between closest stations.

I would say-so as they are on different lines IIRC nether of them has a station building. The only way between the two is a long path that only connects two platforms. Also, two names so two different stations, a bit like Waterloo and Waterloo East.

Trivia- most circuitous route between closest stations.

How about Shotton low level to Shotton high level, two routes one via Wrexham and Chester, or via Bidston and Chester.

    TransPennine South route ‘forgotten about’?

One of the things that I have noticed is that TPE are quick to send passenger to other ToCs but then want to hit you with an excess fare if you have to travel on their service.

Delay repay on split tickets - maximum interchange time?

I would have been happy to have got the delay repay for the London - Birmingham. How you got the delay repay for the London - Penzance return portion beets me. I do hope that you are going to donate it to a charity.

Timetable of the day, freedom of information request

As I have been caught up with the published timetable of the day, I have had a look through the National conditions of travel 6/2/22 and this is what I have found. 27.3 When you make your claim, you should state the timetabled departure time of the train you intended to use for your journey and...

    False details for penalty fare

One thing that I can't understand is that both stations at Bradford are penalty fare stations why the OP is not just been asked for the £20 penalty fare + the cost of the ticket? If this is not relevant, please removed the post.

    When was a train cancelled?

Last night after getting in from the model railway club I decided to have a look on RTT for all day today from Barrow, I had the CAN button in (or in use). This was at about 22:20 (Northern cut off time 22:00) no cancelations showing. I then had a look at the same times this morning and the...

IIRC you don't have to show your railcard to purchase a ticket but do have to show it at a ticket check. If this is wrong, please delete.

    When was a train cancelled?

One part of the email that I received has got me thinking. "If you did not travel as a result of our service been removed you are entitled to a full refund from the ticket retailer." How would this work with a Northern complimentary travel pass? Going onto the published timetable surly the...

I'm in the same sort of position as stew above (post 22) in that my train was cancelled, I did check that it was running at about 18:30 the day before. It was. When I went to the station in the morning to get the 05;49 it was cancelled. So I got the next train and with a few changes got to...
