Storm Isha may affect your journey in parts of England, Scotland and Wales on Sunday 21 and Monday 22 January

Let's wait and see what the damage is. What I've seen so far includes 10 trees down in the Gartcosh area, a fence hanging over the railway at Glasgow Queen St low level and damaged wires at East Linton. And that's before route proving.

HS2 update Transport Select Committee 10/1/24

I wonder if we're at the point now where any change that will result in additional spend, gets declined regardless of the bigger picture?

Another day, another overhead line failure near Paddington

The answer is obvious, as far as the railway is concerned: do not travel!

Northern: DO NOT TRAVEL 24th & 31st December

Soon we will be at the point where TOCs will be putting out a message saying "It's OK to travel today."

    ECML Disruption 02/11 - Huntingdon / Edinburgh

I suspect tomorrow morning won't be good either with trains left in unusual places overnight and crew out of hours. Assuming the issue is fixed.

    Derailment in Neville Hill (31/10/2023)

The pedant in me feels compelled to say it's a DVT but I'm sure there's a 91 on the other end.

Why a 49-mile journey in Wales takes seven hours

I've tried to book a flight between Scotland's two largest cities but I have to go via London which is in another country.

ECML blocked at St. Neots? (19/10)

I'm afraid I can't help regarding the hotel but Network Rail Scotland have imposed a 40mph speed restriction between the border and Innerwick (near Dunbar). This won't help service recovery.

Issues North of Newcastle - Plessey Viaduct - 09/10 (onwards)

The roots could have caused the structure to weaken and led to the collapse. It's a reasonable size.

Issues North of Newcastle - Plessey Viaduct - 09/10 (onwards)

If the reported 5mph ESR is correct, that will probably cause cancellations too?

Issues North of Newcastle - Plessey Viaduct - 09/10 (onwards)

Why is there a plant growing out the side of the viaduct?

Severe weather Saturday 7th October, some ScotRail services suspended.

Even if Avanti terminated everything at Preston to keep to diagrams a d schedules, but then ran a shuttle service to / from Carlisle. Yes, they might need to move a set from Polmadie, but it's far better than what they did.

Severe weather Saturday 7th October, some ScotRail services suspended.

This ScotRail photo at Dalmarnock is pretty worrying. Water should not be seeping through a retaining wall. The works done to the station for the Commonwealth Games didn't really address the long term issues there.

Severe weather Saturday 7th October, some ScotRail services suspended.

I imagine many unsuspecting passengers won't have heard of the plans and turn up anyway.

Confirmed : HS2 West Midlands-Manchester line to be scrapped and replaced with other projects.

A moment to think of the grief caused by those living on the proposed route of HS2 and lost their properties and those that have worked on it and now have an uncertain future. All for nothing. Not even a deferred project. So much money wasted.

Confirmed : HS2 West Midlands-Manchester line to be scrapped and replaced with other projects.

I saw the A75 to Stranraer on the list. That isn't in Westminster's 'jurisdiction.
