11.20 from Edinburgh to London Kings Cross on 2 July

Realtime trains shows this as LNER's 1E95 with no diversion via the Hertford loop - www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:G23227/2023-07-02/detailed

Tyne & Wear Metro: Fleet Refurbishment List

Interesting to see what I think was 4001 & 4083 topping and tailing the RHTT today!

Application of the Delay Repay Scheme

Thanks for the replies. Every other Delay Repay TOC other than FCC mentions the 120+ minute delay rule so I assume this is a (probably deliberate) omission. Regardless of what is says or doesn't say in Passenger Charters, the Delay Repay scheme should be applied consistently between...

Application of the Delay Repay Scheme

My understanding was that companies specified by the DFT to apply the Delay Repay scheme all have to apply it in exactly the same way. Specifically, in the case of delays over 120 minutes, if a return ticket is held, compensation equivalent to the total price of the return ticket (not just...

    12:30 Kings Cross - Durham (21/03) HST or 91+Mk4?

Booked 91 + mk4's and forms the 1625 from Newcastle back to London. Can very occasionally produce HST but probably less than a 5pc chance of that.

    Oyster Refund Problems

I agree it looks suspicious and in retrospect wasn't a sensible thing to do but the RTV's were legitimately obtained and I would gladly receive a refund in that form having waited so long for it.

    Oyster Refund Problems

In October 2013 I used Rail Travel Vouchers to top up 4 separate PAYG Oystercards with approximately £90 on each. The RTVs had been expiring soon so I considered it valid and legal to surrender all the cards shortly after for a full refund. Unfortunately 5 months on, I am still awaiting the...

Do all trains call at Darlington?

From memory, pre XC Voyagers, the Monday to Friday 1550 Newcastle-Plymouth HST used to run non-stop between Newcastle and York in an impressive 49 minutes.

    ECML Disruption (07/02/14 Huntingdon)

The 1700 did indeed arrive at Newcastle 59 minutes late but most of that was due to it stopping at all EC stations (except Durham) enroute. Using the slow line between Alexandra Palace-New Barnet and signalling problems at Northallerton contributed around 15 minutes to the delay. Catering...

    East Coast Delay Repay Problems

After a pathetically long wait (7 weeks since I appealed), I received a reply to one of the NINE outstanding delay repay cases I have with East Coast. All involved split tickets and EC only based compensation only on the part of the split where the delay occurred, not on the journey as...

    Rail Travel Vouchers expiry dates

In the past I have attempted to claim a refund of Oyster PAYG originally topped up with RTVs and was told at an Underground ticket office that it was not possible, even if ID and proof of address are provided. Can anyone definitively confirm if PAYG refunds are permitted if the credit was...

    East Coast Delay Repay Problems

This paragraph in one of EC's replies to my appeal appears to sum up their current attitude: "Whilst two tickets can class as one journey, we are only able to compensate for one ticket of your journey. Typically this is the ticket most affected by the delay. I would advise for future...

    East Coast Delay Repay Problems

If bb21 is correct in saying that it has been agreed at senior level to base the claim on the total cost if the journey, should I be focussing my efforts there rather than the clueless admin staff in Plymouth, many of whom don't appear to have the slightest knowledge of the geography of the ECML?

    East Coast Delay Repay Problems

I regularly split tickets on East Coast using 2 or more advance tickets for my journey. I now have 6 outstanding delay repay cases in which they have only compensated me for the part of the split affected by the delay rather than the entire journey. It has been debated regularly on this forum...

London to Halifax on Grand Central

My experience is not quite so favourable, though I have only used the Sunderland route. I no longer travel with them for the following reasons: 1. Last time I travelled with them I was told off for not sitting in my reserved seat despite the adjacent carriage being completely unreserved...

    People's least favourite stations

Has to be Sunderland. Dark, damp, dingy and very cold in winter - not dissimilar to the city itself!

Grand Central booked to call at Finsbury Park!

Interesting that the 1312 KX-Sunderland is booked to call at Finsbury Park on Saturday 14th September. After stopping at Peterborough (again unusual for GC except during disruption) the train diverts via Lincoln & Gainsborough due to planned engineering work. Can anyone suggest a likely...

East Coast Gift eVouchers - reward points when redeeming?

My experience is that no EC loyalty points are rewarded on purchases made with evouchers. This differs from the Red Spotted Hanky loyalty scheme where points are rewarded when evouchers are used.

    Delayed trains refund

Excellent news, good on East Coast. A shame First Capital Connect choose not to implement the same policy on compensation for split tickets.
