Good news, about time!

The Key was rolled out on Tyneside about 2 year ago IIRC. The 'compensation' of 3 day day ticket I got off them was stored on a Key card but the first day I used it I realised they had forgotten to load the tickets on :roll:

Thats ridiculous considering Monument Mall is being rebuilt, now that that exit is no longer people leaving the station have to climb stairs or use a urine smellling tiny lift thats a canny walk from the barriers. I noticed that. Any idea when (or if) the access will be re-instated, I'm sick of climbing the stairs to get out and missing the access to Fenwicks Cafe Nero via TK Maxx!

As mentioned a few days earlier I would have thought it would have been better to extend them through to Monkseaton and utilise the sildings there! Very shortsighted indeed

Seems a bit short sighted, whats gonna happen with the Benton turn-arounds? (maybe extended to Monkseaton?:idea:) Wonder how long it takes for the new houses to be errected and people start complaining about the railway noise and the clarty, unlit path to the Metro station?

I don't know much about the technincalities to be fair but I much prefer the unreferbished ones. I think they have done a good job with the referbs but I think they look too clinical and I hate the new door warning tones. I thought it was not permitted for Metro's to run along that line with passengers onboard...I may be wrong, and hope I am as I would love to have a run along there!

I was more concerned about the last bit of the comment stating "perhaps metro should go driverless like the DLR" I still don't like the idea of ATO/UTO as its heading in that direction!

Driverless trains on a route shared with heavy rail? err no thank you and then also putting Metro drivers out of a job? I can't see how the Metro needs to be sped up, it runs at as decent a speed as required given the amount of stops and average commute time of 20 odd minuites is pretty good...
