Has anyone here ever braved the N9 to the Airport?

They said “the long stay car park” which is the official drop off point to avoid the £5 fee. Whilst Pod parking is Longstay they may want to try it.

Has anyone here ever braved the N9 to the Airport?

lf you’re flying from Terminal 5 then get dropped off at Pod Parking, you can just walk around the barriers. l have been dropped off myself and also dropped others off here with no problem. This location is outside the £5 drop off zone.

The "bus culture" in your area

On double decker buses in London I struggle to stand up whilst the bus is in motion unless I am able to hold two separate handrails. So if I have a suitcase or bag then I will wait until the bus has stopped.

    London Buses Discussion

Has anything actually changed with the service since it became Superloop, or is it still painfully slow? Looking at the timetables on Londonbusroutes.net, it still takes 59 Minutes to get from Harrow to Heathrow, double the time that it takes to drive and depending where in Harrow you are, the...

    Transpora Group

Just seen on a Facebook group which shows a crash between a Londoner buses heritage bus and the back of a RATP bus on the C3 route apparently taken near Clapham Junction. As per the Londoner Twitter page they have only apparently been running every 45 Mins today with the 17.00 from Waterloo...

    Bus route suffixes

I would have expected any feeder buses to have a prefix rather than a suffix, the latter of which normally refers to a variation of an existing route. For instance when Tramlink first starts running the three feeder routes were T31, T32 and T33.

    Bus route suffixes

Not sure if this counts as a suffix or not, but Ashford in Kent has numbered routes for the out of town services but lettered routes (A, B, C, D and E) for the town services. Of an evening the part of route A takes on part of route D and runs in a single-direction loop displaying the route...

Ensignbus £10 contactless limit and Apple Pay / Google Pay ban

Not sure I'd describe it as a failing of Apple or Google, after all that is the exact purpose of a virtual card!

    Transpora Group

Anyone after some context about some of the things in here you can read about the infamous CityFox group which ran and claimed to run a variety of taxi, bus, feeder shuttle and (er?) nightclub services. https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/cityfox-bus.140774/ Grab some popcorn, it’s a long...

Ensignbus £10 contactless limit and Apple Pay / Google Pay ban

Maybe they don’t process the transactions in real-time? I get notifications on my phone through my bank app, in shops they always come through immediately via a push notification, but for my local council car park I never get them until a while afterward.

Ensignbus £10 contactless limit and Apple Pay / Google Pay ban

I’m confused as well. I fully understand the £10 thing, but I still struggle to understand the Apple Pay situation. Is it down to the fact that it is so easy to set up a virtual card, with nothing on it (or 10p or whatever is needed for Ticketer). There’s various Apps like Stocard and Revolut...

Problems using Tap and Cap using Google Pay!!

Or alternatively, make it work like TfL, where you input your “real” card number, and it shows all transactions, regardless of whether you use the card, phone, watch or any other payment method.

Is it possible to set up a network of express bus routes in outer London?

The problem with some of these "fast" roads are twofold. Firstly, is that they don't always go where people actually want to travel but instead are provided as orbital routes for traffic - very few journeys would actually start, or end on these roads. Secondly, the traffic can be so varied...

    London Buses Discussion

I found this pic online from one of the heritage Routemaster routes (https://images.app.goo.gl/mKVUaQ4CZgQDikBy5). Seems to show route number and summary of key stops above the platform and on the rear, and the final destination additionally to the rear.

    London Buses Discussion

I see the new buses on the 63 have a full destination display on the rear of the bus (displaying both the route number and the destination). I wonder if this is going to be some kind of new London standard? You see it in a few places outside London such as Oxford and Newcastle, but it’s not...

Does anyone know if it is possible to get any sort of refund of credit for smartcards of operators that are no longer trading? I'm having a clearout at home and have found some smartcards that are branded "Wessex Red" and "uLink" which used to be valid on Wessex Connect / Wessex Red / uLink...
