    Flash Photography & Byelaw

Yes, I am minded to agree. Even if it might not be against the Byelaws (we will have to disagree on that one), for anyone who has ever been on the front of the train, or even doing things like monitoring the CCTV, it can be extremely distracting.

    Being given the finger?!

Of course if they were upset for privacy reasons, by making offensive gestures they have given themselves more publicity than the photographs would have otherwise generated.

    Photography in London

As the Olympic park is still closed, the best views of it are afforded by going to the 'view tube' near Pudding Mill Lane DLR station. I echo the comments above by NSE; get the train from LivSt to Stratford (sit on the left hand side). If you want to go to view tube then head back one stop on...

    Photography "Anti-social behaviour"

An apology has been issued and compensation paid, but what has happened to the individual who cost his organisation time and reputation?

Trainspotting - photography project, need of help

Whilst the majority probably are enthusiasts or other interested parties, the OP stated ''trainspotter'' of which there are very few on RailUK.

Trainspotting - photography project, need of help

Hi Dorian, There are not many trainspotters on this forum so people here may not be able to help you, but as taxidave suggests there are a number of good locations you can go where you may be able to find people trainspotting.

A suggestion to the Moderators relating to this forum...

This is incorrect. Birmingham Snow Hill and Moor Street both contain Compulsory Ticket Areas.

    Worst station to spot trains

Even some busy stations would probably be boring. For example Sudbury has a more frequent train service than many mentioned (it's hourly) but it's the same unit shuttling back and forth each day.

I've split these posts from the Railway Webcams topic and moved it as it has no relation to the original topic

    Pictures at Bristol Temple Meads

Most people stand at the end of platform 5/7 which is the best place for both things.

XC employees seem to be trouncing employees of all other parts of Arriva!

    Scum

Reading something on the HMSO website is very misleading, as a lot of primary legislation (Acts) needs seconary legislation to actually enact them, so what might be in an Act might not yet actually be the law.

Photography - Your Rights under Section 44

Because that's not what the law says? Because the police cannot be trusted? Because I have taken a photograph for a purpose and do not want to delete it? Because I do not want to suffer the embarassment of xyz at the hands of complete strangers in public? Hundreds of reasons.

    Scum

Isn't it actually the case that police officers spend too much time doing paperwork and thus spend less time out on the street, and that PCSOs were to redress this balance? Why not hire civilian admin staff to do the paperwork and only have "real" police patrolling the streets?

    Bristol

Well if you want to visit the Clifton Bridge get the train to Clifton Down and it's about 1km walk!

    Bristol

Not at Temple Meads you can't! You can just about make it out several kms away from Bedminster station, but it's barely noticeable and getting a picture to include it and a train would be pretty rubbish!

Most people go to the north end of platforms 5 and 7.

Stop-and-search powers ruled illegal by European court

No. They appear outside a Brighton factory (on the street) every Friday and nothing else has come of it or happenned. This isn't an isolated incident, look at the climate camp, RBS protests and everything else and shouldn't happen full stop...

Stop-and-search powers ruled illegal by European court

Aren't they? What about that couple of anti-weapons protesters where the police took their registration number and are constantly being pulled over after being added to a list of suspects.

Stop-and-search powers ruled illegal by European court

It's being directed at the wrong people (ie: easy targets). Jackboot Jacqui told us she'd start harassing the harassers but instead she's sent her American style robocops armed with comedy style cameras to stand outside church halls where campaigners meet up. Pic courtesy of Fit Watch
