How do you teach it (i.e. a separate subject/qualification or part of another subject)?

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

This is a consequence of FPTP: it causes voters to vote for what they see as "the least worst", not what they want, so parties resort to attacking each other more because that's what the system causes. A combination of PR voting and mass-rollout of critical thinking education would go a long way...

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

The original favourite for Tory candidate stepped down in response to allegations made against him. Had he not I strongly suspect Hall would have lost.

Is there a difference in severance pay if one loses a recall petition vs resigning/standing down/losing at a GE? I know severance pay now is equal to 4 months rather than 2, so if Benton gets this pay by resigning, but being recalled forfeits it, then he'd definitely find value in resigning...

So Scott Benton has resigned for being bent. If all these scandals are going to involve ironically named-MPs, my money is on either Greg Hands or Peter Bottomley having to resign next for...well you know.

    Russia invades Ukraine

2 days ago there was of course the terror attack in Moscow claimed by ISIS. While it in itself has nothing to do with the Ukraine conflict, Putin has resorted to doing whatever he can to blame it on Ukraine, and he dismissed US intelligence that correctly predicted the attack. I think this...

    Princess of Wales has cancer

A number of news commentators are saying this was clearly done now for the sake of their children: the announcement came almost straight after they'd broken up for the Easter holidays, giving them 2-3 weeks to come to terms with all this away from the school environment, where hopefully by the...

    Princess of Wales has cancer

I suspect she's come out with this now as the effects of the chemotherapy she's about to undergo could easily give the game away otherwise.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the media once again setting the agenda and politicians feeling obliged to follow suit, when it should be the other way round.

Is a grand coalition the way forward now?

A Government of National Unity would have been beneficial for handling Brexit &/or the Covid response, but otherwise the reform needed is PR voting and subsequent cross-party working from that. Besides, the prevalence of this "they're all the same" attitude is bad enough, having a "grand...

One slight issue to bear in mind is the Labour MP from 2017-19 was not selected as their candidate for the next election, such they've decided to run as an Independent who may split the vote. However given the national picture it's still a tall order for it not to go Labour.
