    Flying Scotsman centenary events/ discussion.

Now we've had some rain recently, with more forecast over the next week, I would hope this won't be so much of an issue now.

    Flying Scotsman centenary events/ discussion.

I went on the Salisbury Express this Wednesday just gone, and there was a very high turnout for spectators in the Newbury area: at the Racecourse station where it stopped for water the platform was packed, and when it sat in Newbury for a few minutes to allow a GWR service to pass, the entire...

    K&ESR/RVR Robertsbridge TWA approved!

There is also a gauging station on the River Rother called Udiam GS, right next to the current end point of the track from Bodiam. The Environment Agency will have been involved plenty in the project to make sure flood risk is managed in relation to the works and eventual finished setup. RAIL...

Dartmouth Steam Railway trains "not calling at intermediate stations this year".

I used the railway in July 2020 and July 2021, where the non-stop run was present for both. I think there was no need to run two trains at once, not just because of demand, but the non-stop run was considerably faster (20-25 minutes each way), to the point that a higher frequency was possible...

6233 Duchess of Sutherland OHLE arc incident?

I forgot to add it the video was released on the 21st November just over a week ago, so it's possible it was recent. However for anyone who hasn't gone into the video via YouTube, comments have been turned off so it's not possible to ask exactly when, while the video description doesn't give a date.

6233 Duchess of Sutherland OHLE arc incident?

I've just discovered this video showing the above Steam locomotive hauled train heading for the Lickey and an OHLE flash as it passed, but not causing the train to stop: Does anyone know how this might have been caused and if disruption resulted from possible power supply problems?

    GWR HST Farewell Railtour Timings

On the tour someone near where I sat got really excited at the idea of 4 powercars being involved - as nice as it would have been I'm glad the non-stop run went ahead as planned, especially as we sailed along Dawlish just after sunset; any delay hooking up extra powercars would have spoiled that...

Finding a high res "Cathedrals Express" nameplate image

Yes Dale I think that'll work, thank you :)

Finding a high res "Cathedrals Express" nameplate image

Apologies if this isn't in the right place as I wasn't sure. Next year I'm planning on completing a cross the country cycle ride that I want to name after the Cathedrals Express railtour, and to make for a better relation I want to get an image of the nameplate and put on laminated paper to...
