Bought ticket on forum not given ticket for full journey

It's a shame Raileasy can't claim their out of pocket costs back from the RDG, minus cost of original ticket of course.

    National Routeing Guide update

I think there should always be easements when that part of the line is closed. After all if they aren't needed, why create them in the first place some of the time? If they don't have enough staff to do this work then that is a discussion to be had and that might be the outcome but at least...

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

I'm not sure it does as it just shows one set of split ticket savings but I booked two separate journeys in the one transection. I have now downloaded the recepit and it has Penrith to Guildford Manchester Oxford Road to Penrith Total share of saving fees However there won't be any saving on...

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

It would be useful if I could have a breakdown of splitsave costs per journey, rather than the splitsave only showing at the end of the transaction for all journeys purchased in one go. For example at the end of Feburary I booked two journeys in one transaction. One of the journeys work are...

Request for help: LNER Fare Trial Ripoff

I still haven't but hopefully I won't need to and a link will be provided to the video in due course. :D

Request for help: LNER Fare Trial Ripoff

Once the video is completed, do post a link here and I will share it with some people I know, one of whome has an interest in railways more generally and quite a few Facebook friends. One needs to get such a video viral as then the journalists might pick up on it.

Request for help: LNER Fare Trial Ripoff

I quite agree. Whilst I'm not aware or savings on that route, I know of savings elsewhere that I would mention publicly. In some cases I would tell friends and they would say that is expensive. I would then explain it is cheaper than the alternative train fare that others might by. :D So the...

Chichester to Bognor missing out Barnham on a rail replacement bus

I didn't actually look up the full timetable, just the journey planner. I hasn't consider my ticket was valid via Littlehampton but I now understand it is. Fascinating.

Chichester to Bognor missing out Barnham on a rail replacement bus

Thanks for the reply. Well my ticket isn't a via Barnham one. Just that travelling via Barnham is a valid route. I always needed a ticket from Barnham to Bognor, which I would have purchased. It's just that the bus skips Barnham by being direct.

Leeds man jailed for 22 months for defrauding LNER (and perverting the court of justice)

All they need to do is find unpaid work involving sitting at a desk. I appreciate it's academic in this case as he has perverted the course of justice. I know people who have done voluntary work sat at desks due health conditions stopping them working.

Chichester to Bognor missing out Barnham on a rail replacement bus

Thanks for the reply. I will consider asking at the ticket office. I generally like to play by the rules because I do use the rules to my advantage at times. It is £2.30 from Barnham to Bognor and £4.00 from Chichester to Bognor. This is singles with a third off.

Chichester to Bognor missing out Barnham on a rail replacement bus

I have a period return ticket that is valid via Barnham and tomorrow I need to head to Bognor. Just a signal journey to Bognor as I will be collected. Usually I would just buy a single or return from Barnham to Bognor, having changed trauns at Barnham. However, there is engineering works...

    National Routeing Guide update

Interesting that they have chosen to do this as on recent weekends or Sundays I dont think they bothered, unless there was a previous easement I'd forgotten about. If there wasn't, what makes the following weekends more special or is it simply that they didn't have enough resources to implement...

"£100m" claim launched against TOCS re: Boundary zone tickets

Do you still have letters you wrote? If you do then perhaps when there is a conclusion to this, you could write to them again, along with their previoua responses and ask them look at it again. You could also ask them what they think of the ruling.

Leeds man jailed for 22 months for defrauding LNER (and perverting the court of justice)

So if the sentence isn't more severe, we're they misguided in thinking having a wider choice would be better for them?

Good point. I got that wrong. Replace advanced with walk up ticket. It was late when I replied.

Fare advice for bristol to london commute

I assume they wouldn't need to stop at Didcot being a season ticket. Would combining an advance wi6h a flexible season ticket work at all? So advance to a station where they then use a flexi-season ticket. That would avoid the need to stop at the station. It may not be cheaper than a through...

Leeds man jailed for 22 months for defrauding LNER (and perverting the court of justice)

It hadn't occurred to me before that if someone is unfit to do unpaid work, they would get a prison sentence. I guess that is a warning to all people unfit to do unpaid work. Don't commit crimes as you are more likely to be jailed than those fit enough to do unpaid work. Assuming this man was...

"£100m" claim launched against TOCS re: Boundary zone tickets

I thought it was a lot of money. Shows what I know. I did also wonder in the past, how do people know they paid twice as I certainly wouldn't remember if I'd not purchased a boundary zone 6 ticket when that was cheaper even if I had any proof, which except for a bank statement, would be...

West of England Line "No Fares available" on Saturday

Yes but not the rail replacement bus. Anyway I didn't need to get into it here in a big way. More highlighting the contrasting ways things were happening as it seemed to me as someone who doesn't work for either SWR or GWR.
