Urgent - court case Friday 12th April

I know it's late but I've only just been reading this. I think it would be worth writing down things as evidence that can be presented to the court. I once had to go to a tribunal some years ago, on a matter relating to benefits and Citizens Advise recommended I write everything down and...

    Can Revenue override a Guard

I have had a couple of instances where I wws allowed on other trains having missed my booked train. Being dyslexic I hadn't allowed enough time and in the first instance needed the loo prior to getting the train. I have health issues in that department too. In the second instance I left...

Chiltern Recovers £400,000 of Evaded Revenue

Maybe the question could have been, what would they have had to cut, had they not had the revenue.

Chiltern Recovers £400,000 of Evaded Revenue

Are they subject to FOIs? I thought they wouldn't be as they are a private firm.

Chiltern Recovers £400,000 of Evaded Revenue

Good for them. I'm not aware of all guards doing this and they should do. It should be mandatory so that people can be caught and honest people are not.

Fallout for rail prosecutions from Post Office scandal

I prefer one that is only valid on parliamentary services with no list of the parliamentary services to make it ambiguous and open to mistakes.

Mersey rail fine for not collecting my train ticket which I paid for.

There is if you buy to one station but then realise you need to go to the other. You will have to buy another ticket, even if originally they would have been the same price.

London to Watton at Stone (via Stevenage)

Good news. Cheques seem very old fashioned though. Recently when I needed to get a refund for a taxi, on South Western Railway, I just rang up and inputted my card details over the phone in such a way that even the nice person I spoke to wouldn't know them.

Paid for parking on Trainline app and got penalty notice

This sums it up perfectly. As someone who is dyslexic,I can see how someone could make a mistake when the information is presented as it is here. If complaining to Advertusing Stanards Agency, I find that they need precise examples. So you will need example screenshots rather than just...

Retrospective prosecution for fare evasion - has it been successful in court yet?

Will someone get a fine if they don't touch in with a contactless card and they are stopped or is the system bias towards Oyster card users? Not that I agree with travelling without a ticket. If you don't like the fare charged, use split ticketing, learn the routing guide or even better, both.

Watch out for your railcard app

I just tried LNER Web Site on my mobile and I found more off putting than a TMV. It may simply be I've not used it enough. I am dyslexic. Anyway I won't go on as it's going off this topic too much.

Watch out for your railcard app

But I don't need to go to a station to use a journey planner as I can go to the station and buy my ticket without a journey planner step via a TMV.

Watch out for your railcard app

On the TMV I select: Station going to, Return Type of ticket Discount button Annual Gold Card Pay On a journey planner, I need to think about which journey I select and make sure I select the right journey to get the right ticket type I want unless journey planners allow you to select the...

Watch out for your railcard app

I rarely print out tickets as I find it more of faff to print them vers finding them on my phone and it works for me. I do however have a lot CCSTs but that is because it's the fastest way to buy a walk up ticket without the need for a journey planner. Now that I can get 8% back towards my...

Why are so many stations non-compliant with Penalty Fare signage?

Comic Sans was for a time considered helpful for people who are dyslexic as they find that easier to read. I don't know if current research still supports this. 1687332207 Pricing managers read these forums.

14 Year Old School Pupil accused of lying about her age

There is also the statement from SouthEastern unless you are saying the Daily Fail made it up. If it was taken out of context then SouthEastern have a simple solution to this. Put their full statement on their Web Site under press statements/releases. I'd they don't want to be that transparent...

Prevented from travel on valid ticket; Greater Anglia 'resolve' issue by narrowing ticket validity

I still think the price difference isn't that much lower given the much heavier restrictions. 1677458112 So the off-peak day return is £28.60 and the super off-peak day return is £27.60 So it's 2.8% cheaper. Is that a lot in price difference?

Prevented from travel on valid ticket; Greater Anglia 'resolve' issue by narrowing ticket validity

In this case I'm not sure what the OP could do as they needed to get through the barrier and if they couldn't get through they needed to speak with someone else and so it ended up being brought to someone's attention. Buying another ticket would be more expensive vers the savings they were...

    Penalty fare increase to £100

You go to a newspaper and/or your MP and hope they take up the case.

    Penalty fare increase to £100

I didn't think all the trains were DOO but perhaps I'm wrong.
