Wellington Tavern Bed and Breakfast, Dewsbury
Located around a five minute walk from the station, friendly staff and a good breakfast. Only downside is my room was a bit warm so I needed to have the window open allowing the noise of a clock on a townhall bonging the time overnight.
Certainly one I will use again if I need to stay overnight in West Yorkshire
Another place well worth considering in West Yorkshire is Bradford Central Premier Inn. Very close to Interchange Station and less than 10 minutes walk from Forster Square. One of he better Premier Inns I have stayed in with larger than usual room and also one of their lowest priced. Less than half the price of similar hotels in Leeds.
Is anyone able to suggest good accommodation close to a direct link (rail or tube) to Vauxhall?
I am going to an international cricket match next September. We usually stay at the Vauxhall Travelodge as it's decent and usually reasonably priced. This time though it will cost £672 for two rooms for two nights! It seems that all of central London is equally or more expensive. Thus I am thinking maybe there is a cheaper alternative say 30-45 mins travel from Vauxhall station. I don't really know where the trains from Vauxhall go to so don't really know where to start looking. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would be glad to hear of them.

I always look for somewhere on a dirext train 30-45 mins out seem to become a reasonable price if that is suitable for you to look at
There's a Travelodge here in Epsom right next to the station and that's about 30 minutes from Vauxhall.
There's also one which is either a Travelodge or a Premier inn - can't remember which - right next door to Tolworth station, which is about 25 minutes from Vauxhall.
I'm sure Kite159 will back me up here, as a regular guest, but easyHotel Croydon is actually pretty decent. I hadn't stayed for quite some time until last month, the rooms have been undergoing a refresh which was nice. This hotel had ultra-comfortable beds when I used to stay regularly, but they seem to have been replaced with firmer matresses now. Pillows and quilt were still very good though!
It really is only a few minutes walk from East Croydon station, indeed there's more time spent waiting at traffic lights to cross the road than there is actually walking!
I would recommend it as an option, if the price is right. Whereas easyHotel Victoria, yeah it was OK but I didn't rate my stay too highly. Also much longer to walk to from Victoria LU than it appears, indeed it's a little quicker to walk there from Pimlico LU! Oh and I do not recommend easyHotel Earls Court, just say no to it!

Used it many times. Much prefer it to hotels nowAnyone had any good/bad experience with Airbnb , either in UK or elsewhere?
How does easyhotel and Travelodge/Premier Inn compare in price.
I fully agree. In my experience Easyhotel isn't usually that much cheaper but the downgrade compared to Premier Inn is significant and not worth the cost imo. My Easyhotel experience was pretty nasty compared to pretty much every Premier Inn I've used and since then I've booked Premier Inn as far as possible, which is usually at a decent rate.I'd go for Premier Inn, unless easy hotel are significantly cheaper.
With Premier Inn you get a bigger room with a window and a comfortable bed.
Also worth a look on booking.com to see if there's a decent independent hotel that's reasonably cheap
