I don't know if there is a thread on this already but what is everyone's favourite traction motor sound! Personally mine is Class 319-321. Could listen to it all day

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
The original Valenta engines with their distinctive scream that were in the Intercity 125 powercars.

EDIT: After re-reading the opening post (admittedly it was the title of the thread that did not specify motors), I liked the Class 310 and 323 motor sounds.

319 for classic DC motor thrash, 365 or 1996TS for more characteristic noises.

Jubilee Line trains sound amazing

Like the electrostar / Victoria / S8 +7
traction motor noises too

Personally . not a fan of DC Motors ( with the exception of the 1992 TS ) , although I havent been on too many DC Motored trains , and their condition influenced my view of them ( LM321s and LM319s) . I find them noisy and rattling

Class 365 all the way :P Also the Jubilee Line 1996 stock, which sounds like the 365s but at a different (higher?) pitch

Traction motor sounds (well I suppose traction system technically)? Siemens ES64U and ES64U2 Taurus locos (ÖBB 1016/1116, DB 182 etc) are the best by an absolute mile.

Class 76/EM1 motors- plus a very unusual clickety clack on rail joints from the short wheelbase between bogies. Come to think of it, I can't remember the sound , twas such a long time ago!

For modern EMUs, has to be the 465/0s and 465/1s with their original equipment, plus of course the 323s. Although of course much of this sound isn't purely the traction motors but the traction package as a whole.

Can't beat an EE507 motor as well.

R stock from the District Line. Not only the tuneful whining on the motors but lovely noisy compressors.

Have to agree :)

Also any of the vintage DC-motored electric locos e.g. BR class 76, old Swiss and Austrian locos (like the Austrian Mariazellerbahn class 1099, more than a hundred years old).
