Does anyone know if the SNCF BB22300 loco's that were used to haul freight through the Chunnel when it first opened, and which sported yellow ends and RFD decals were given TOPS numbers?

Cheers Gary

Even if it was out of sequence, using the same number on both the British and French systems would be the sensible option. Without any other Class 22 locomotives still in service it would have been easy to change the details of the Class 22 to show in the system as the SNCF electric loco.

The TGV-TMST sets built for Eurostar service had the British Class 373 designation selected for this very reason, that they needed to have the last four digits as 3xxx for the TGV numbering scheme.
