Let's wait and see.
I suspect someone has put 2+2 together and made 5 with the move of the off-lease 153s to Heaton before onward moves to storage. Last I saw (a few weeks ago) the plan was for the remainder to start moving off lease as soon as the incoming 156s arrive. Given the costs and practicality issues, I'd be surprised if that's changed.

Well if the rumour of retaining a few for strengthening is true. Then the 1019 MBR-WTB would be an ideal service

This morning's train was full and standing by the time it reached Nunthorpe, 10 minutes outside Middlesbrough.

Unless they return to the clitheroe to rochdale lines and the 3 car 150s do kirkby to Wigans instead.
To release units elsewhere.
However I suspect some 156s are due to arrive soon from emr.
Maybe the ones from store at Barrow Hill.
To solve a few issues.

The rumours are not true. The remaining 153’s go off lease when the additional 156’s arrive.

You've missed 153379/384 off the EMR list. There's two letters, one for each ROSCO.

Presumably EMR should include 153379 & 153384 unless they have gone off lease? The shorter date will be dependent on crew knowledge for the Barton branch as it was the case that the TPE crew only knew the 153's. I assume EMR crew will take over at some point which will allow other stock to take over.

tfw are possibly longer as they are showing commitment to prm spec them?

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
I have noticed that for the last couple of days, 153361 has been in the Chester area either working the Crewe shuttle (yesterday) or as a spare to couple to a Birmingham - Holyhead (today).

153320 was working in south Wales yesterday.

153335/935 has been on the Penarth - Bargoed/Rhymney today.

Are both of these 153s going to be broadly sticking to working in those areas, or do they swap with other 153s from Canton?

Also, I am unsure what idea of the routes in the East Midlands 153308 and 384 have worked on the last couple of days, as EMT have not got the Know Your Train feature on the Real Time Trains website.

I will be having an attempt to get these 5 remaining 153s for haulage next week (East Midlands Tuesday, Cardiff area Wednesday).

The 153s move around regularly and can almost literally be in Fishguard one day and Holyhead the next.
They swap round generally (but not always) using the 23:09 Shrewsbury to Cardiff to get them south and 21:55 Cardiff to Crewe to get them north.
Weekends see them on lots.of long distance work too which mixes them up

Many thanks for that.

I simply keep a lookout for them on the day.

A pair of 153s work the Cleethorpes to Barton-on-Humber line and both those you seek have been up this week.

I have had a quick look on the RTT website for today, and if I have interpreted it right, the Barton seems to swap over on Sunday to become the 18:23 Lincoln Central, then the 20:27 to Nottingham. The 15:33 from Nottingham seems to take its place in the opposite direction to form the Barton shuttle.

The 153's swap via empty stock moves between Nottingham and Cleethorpes on Tuesdays and Thursdays (and maybe Friday night/Saturday morning?). They are no longer used in service on other EMR routes.

All three of the Network Rail 153s were at Derby this morning.

I've obviously missed something here, Network Rail have taken on some 153s? Any chance I can get some confirmation on which ones they are? 311 is clearly one of them, based on the post before yours, and 376 appears to be too based on another post.

Thanks in advance!

153385 is another which has had some technical items added to the cab front / gangway connector and snowplough / deflector.

153376 Was out on a test run this (yesterday) to Leicester and back, now fitted with the same UV Lights, Lasers and Cameras as per 950001.
For the record, 376 does not have the same kit as 950001. 950001 is a track geometry recording unit, whilst the 153s will be used for switch and crossing inspections. So while the 950 just has a single forward-facing camera and some infra-red lamps on each end, 153376 has rather more than that.
