Looking around the internet there seems to be some variation between different sources and some information not clear at all.

My best guess so far is as follows:

All of 66001 to 66599 / 66701 to 66717 / 66790 to 66799 / 66846 to 66850

Max speed: 120km/h Max TE: 409kN Max continuous TE: 260kN @ 25.6km/h
WWO: 129.6t Fuel capacity: 6550 L (standard screw coupling)

66601-66623

Max speed: 100km/h Max TE: 450kN Max continuous TE: 296kN @ 22.5km/h
WWO: 129.6t Fuel capacity: 6550 L (standard screw coupling)

66718 to 66722

Max speed: 120km/h Max TE: 409kN Max continuous TE: 260kN @ 25.6km/h
WWO: 126.0t Fuel capacity: 5546 L (standard screw coupling)

66723 to 66732

Max speed: 120km/h Max TE: 409kN Max continuous TE: 260kN @ 25.6km/h
WWO: 126.0t Fuel capacity: 5000 L (standard screw coupling)

66752-66779 [as 66001 etc but with Euro cabs]

Max speed: 120km/h Max TE: 409kN Max continuous TE: 260kN @ 25.6km/h
WWO: 129.6t Fuel capacity: 6550 L (standard screw coupling)

66780-66789 [as 66001 etc but with buckeye coupling]

Max speed: 120km/h Max TE: 409kN Max continuous TE: 260kN @ 25.6km/h
WWO: 129.6t Fuel capacity: 6550 L (buckeye coupling)

66951 to 66957 [lower emmision engines, reduced fuel capacity]

Max speed: 120km/h Max TE: 409kN Max continuous TE: 260kN @ 25.6km/h
WWO: 126.0t? Fuel capacity: 5000 L? (standard screw coupling)

66780-789 are all ex EWS/DBC class 66/0s with the same 'auto' coupler as 66003-66250.

66733-66746 same as 66701-66717
66790-66792 with standard UK style 66/0 cab.
66793-66796 as 66/6s - Earlier Euro cab
66797-66799 as 66/0s but with earlier euro cab and no auto coupler
New 66734 - as per 66/0 without auto coupler, has earlier euro cab

66779 has an engine recovered from the first 66734 which is a 12N-710G3B-EC. I believe the 2016 batch (66773 to 66779) would have low-emission 12N-710G3B-T2 engines. This means that either the engine would be converted to the 'T2' or 66779 would be an oddball in having an 'EC' type engine.

I think all Class 66 built after 2005 have been required to have a 'T2' engine, and had to have an additional door in the middle on one side of the locomotive.

T1 engine....
There have been 3x variants of class 66
JT42CWR (original spec 66)
JT42CWRM (Slightly upgraded - newest style 66 for us. And the DBC/ECR class 77s)
And the JT42CWR-T1.

Based on personal knowledge and information verified by mainlinediesels.net

The M spec was the newer version of the 66... ALL 66747-749 and 66752-779 are M spec but with the most compliant engine

The T1 spec was the low emission class 66

GBRf, to the best of my knowledge, are the only Class 66 operator to have the majority of their older spec 66s upgraded.

The newer spec includes new cab front and side windows as well as upgraded acoustic cab interior insulation.
66790-792 were built with these windows due to where they were to operate.
66709 was the first, AIUI, of the UK spec 66s to have the new cab side windows fitted.
Work normally took approximately a month per loco, while at Longport.
However the replacement windows have been fitted to some of the 66793-799/66734 (ii) before shipping to the UK

Now also starting to wonder about the 3300hp vs 3200hp ratings of the engines on classes 66, 67 and 69 - are they all really the same thing perhaps?

I am thinking here is 3300hp may be the British way of measuring gross output and 3200hp the US way of subtracting auxiliaries so that only traction power is counted.

AIUI the 69s, while using a standard 12-710... are not as powerful at the rail as a 66 due to using class 56 traction motors etc

They are all AFAIK 3,200hp gross and 2,970hp traction (ie available engine power once auxiliaries are subtracted).

(The UK Class 66, 67 and 69 all have the same engine model which is also used by the Irish Rail 201 and the engine figures are taken from a manual for that class.)

DRS 66401 to 66434, 66301 to 66305 not included; 66401-20 have moved away from DRS.

So much for Wikipedia that states 3300hp at the crankshaft and 3000 at the rail - which would be pretty efficient!!!
