Anybody what services are diagrammed as a HST from Edinburgh tomorrow southbound? Thanks.

If all is well on the day *, should be the 06:06 Plymouth train and 08:08 Bristol Temple Meads train. Hope this helps.

Note that these can be replaced by a Voyager if an HST is unavailable.

XC05. The set had previously worked ECS from EC to LA as 5Z43 earlier in the day. 378 was replaced by 366 for 1E67.

Is 1V58 set to be an HST tomorrow?
Last week it was so I assume it will be today but I know there is disruption down at Exeter so it won't end up going South of Tiverton Parkway.

Thanks, I did think it was still XC05 but just wanted to confirm it.

Thanks a lot. I’ll check RTT in the morning to be sure.

So, a 2000 lb bomb found in Exeter. o_O

Didn’t they realise during WW2 that XC HST diagrams might have to be altered at short notice 80 years later? And on a Saturday when they’re often subject to engineering works anyway?

Inconsiderate or what... :D

Apologies if this has been covered previously, but do the formations of the XCxx rakes change?

Not very often I don't think but when a coach needs servicing I believe it gets swapped out for another.

Yes they do change for maintenance. The TF, TCC and TGS seem to remain constant though. This is the formation of XC05, for example, on different dates:

8/6/19
44017, 42379, 42052, 42053, 42290, 45005, 41035

27/12/19
44017, 42379, 42053, 42038, 42052, 45005, 41035

12/8/20
44017, 42379, 42372, 42373, 42234, 45005, 41035

30/12/20
44017, 42379, 42372, 42290, 42368, 45005, 41035

How come that move happened then?
The set (43301) failed last night at Proof House Junction, and set pax down at BHM. It then went to Tyseley as 5E63. Next morning ECS to LA, Brum driver to Didcot then Bristol driver forwards. As for why it went via Oxford I can't answer that I am afraid.

For anyone interested, the XC HST diagrams for this timetable are now available to download from the 125 Group's website - you can also type in the Google search box / click on 'crosscountry hst diagrams' :)

Hopefully there'll be available for the May 2021 timetable change unless they're staying the same til at least the December 2021 timetable.

Hi, people. I understand the timetable for CrossCountry services (InterCity at least before I check the '170' timetables) are the same unless there's a tweak.

Am I right in thinking that the HST diagrams will be exactly the same as now, subject to no engineering works, disruption and an HST being available?

Current long distance services they look to be the same in the new timetable so I would imagine they will be the same diagrams as present. The '170' routes are going back to the normal half hourly/hourly service.

Set XC05 had a few issues this morning so went back to Craigentinny with 1V54 starting at Newcastle with a Double Voyager. Looks to be coming out for another go with 1V64 1305 EDB PLY.
