Don't think Kidsgrove had a steam shed did it ? Methinks neilmc's solution sounds more feasible, 'cos I can't sus anything else.

Cromer? Central American nation abbreviated to CR; "Rome" in between those two letters...

Thanks. Costa Rica has always struck me as a fun place -- pity it no longer has railways...

Though very far from metropolis's "plant heaven" -- botanical healer checking night-flowerers: in puzzlement, "what ills, Kew? -- shine gently".

Spean Bridge is correct (anagram of breeding asp), although Adderley Park is a good guess if you consider Birmingham to be remote!

Your turn, Loppylugs

We might perceive slothful saunterer going past; while Northumbrian royal saint (only a short way off his "patch") prays in his place of devotion.

And "laze on by", for the "sloth" -- spot-on, and splendidly quick. Thine turn to set the succeeding rebus, my son...

ORD is the major Chicago airport, O'Hare. I work = possibly is 'staff', so on a whim I'll say 'Stafford'.

Have had "Pegasus" insistently in mind; but it seems that there's no community of that name anywhere in the world -- let alone a passenger station in the UK.

Clue 1: To get his oats, this fellow needs to wing it to work.
Clue 2: The on-site store for a specialist factory?

(I prefer the first clue).
