Hi,
We have switch crossing which has a failed weld on the first weld which is about 2,000m from the point, and based on the manufacturer's drawing, the distance of the point of crossing nose to the first weld is about 2,000 mm.
Is it allowed to have a re-weld 600mm towards the point? The distance of point crossing nose to the first welded joint will become 1,400mm only. Is it still good?
Do we have a standard reference stating the minimum distance requirements for welding in switch crossings?
Hopefully, you can help me.
Thanks.
