end of southern steam railtour 9.7.2021

theres a tour going from waterloo to Yeovil junction then weymouth then back to waterloo on Friday the 9th so ill try and catch some photos of it :)


theres also 2 diesel tours on saturday the 10th which ill try and photograph

The Dorset Maiden, Peterborough - poole

Northern Belle, Cardiff - weymouth

and one on sunday which i cant make

Northern Belle, coventry - weymouth

hmm i was looking on railtour info and it hadnt mentioned it was cancelled, hopefully the other one is on

I knew nothing of this before (having not noticed the thread) but saw it from my train at Virginia Water as it headed through - a 'what is that' moment. Missed the steam engine at the front and only saw the diesel at the back...

ive had to start checking this site on a daily basis just to keep up with whats happening as i used to miss lots of stuff :lol:

I prefer to check RTT to see the train has actually en route. Since the site has been redesigned, I find it easy to use

The proposed workings by 31806 on the main line next month are now in doubt as on the Swanage Railway 257 Squadron has developed a fault which means it will be returning to Tysley, while Manston will be brought back and put back into service ASAP looking "weathered". The railway needs three working steam engines to cover the two steam train timetable. Thankfully the rebuild of Eddystone has been very successful
