I now have a second leg/foot for my single seat thanks to my friend and neighbour who's something of a wizz with carpentry. It exactly matches the dimensions of the original steel fitment which would have been on the aisle side of the seat. It will need drilling into place (and the original one bolting) and is a made from a rather substantial piece of oak. It's had a coat of dark brown wood paint and blends in with the rest of the seat quite well. I haven't finished the paint job yet as it needs flatting and another coat. I'll also fit some rubber pads to the bases. It's not perfect but does stablise the seat. I've also 'locked' it into recline which was my favoured position when I travelled on these trains.

I have also refitted the cleaned seat cushions and have treated them to another coat of leather conditioner and I think they've responded well to a deep clean. Incidentally, the seat cushions date from 2015 and were in a carriage that was withdrawn in 2019 so they had very short lives in service. Here's the
reassembled seat which is currently in the back of my garage but I'll move it into my office once the legs are fitted

Wow , they look absolutely stunning and I love how clean the seat is! Im still struggling trying to find someone to fabricate the legs for my double however I did give them another deep clean over the weekend.

I did recently buy some GWR standard class fabric from eBay as they were from the original factory and turned the fabric into 2 big cushions! I’ve attached the photo too , however seems like my cat cant stop sitting on the cushions and train seats which as a consequence makes the seats and cushions white with her fur lol

Funnily enough I've also got a dynamic lines First Great Western cushion - nice work on your ones!

I can definitely recommend the product 'Gliptone Liquid Leather' - both the cleaner and conditioner. It does a great job and also keeps the the leather in good condition. I've used it in my car and on my sofa and have always been impressed.

Sorry that you've not found someone to create the additional legs for your double seat. It might be worth looking for a joiner and supplying them with measurements. I've now got the additional leg (oak) fitted to my seat which as you can see from my last post replicates the original metal fitting that would have been on the aisle side. It's stabilised the seat very well and the dark brown paint makes it look like an original fitting.

I'll add some further pictures when I have the seat in my office. I've got a couple of guys who specialise in furniture moving coming over on Thursday to take it from my garage to upstairs. I thought I'd leave it to the experts!

By the way, have you seen this on eBay? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384293441426 Might be of interest if you want to recreate the ambience of a GWR Mk.3
