It used to be £500 pounds a year, if you didn't have a bursary.
What did? If you mean a one year student pass sold by the college it was actually £535 from memory
The app shows a public facing two year unlimited pass for the network.
Students get a reduced rate plus bursary by purchasing through the college.

That makes sense.
Anyone know what the Volvo B10BLE will be used for yet?

Truro college are offering increased bursaries this coming year making the bus an attractive option I imagine to most.

We will give bursary support to students towards their bus pass from the bus company of their choice.

The support levels are detailed below:

  • A. Families with an annual household income up to £21k will receive an annual bursary award of £495* towards their bus pass
  • B. Families with an annual household income between £21k and £31k will receive an annual bursary award of £445* towards their bus pass
  • C. Families with an annual household income between £31k and £70k will receive an annual bursary award of £295* towards their bus pass

That's is an error surely? £2750 a year..lol
It's for two years, but still appears to be more expensive than 24 x Adult monthly tickets at £100 per month. However, the bursary makes it somewhat cheaper:

Kernow unlimited (monthly for 24 months): £2,400
Two year college minus max bursary for two years: £2,750 - £990 = £1,760

And that's assuming the Kernow monthly pass wouldn't increase in price over the next two years.

The ticket needs to be on the app with a face value that doesn’t make it undercut anything else. Truro and Penwith College students get a reduction which is accessed through the colleges who are our ticket agents. That gives them a code to redeem against that ticket on the app. No one is going to buy it from the app and that’s just fine.

Makes perfect sense.

The Truro College timetables are now on the website:

As speculated earlier the U1 does indeed get extended to Newquay all day, which would explain the much higher PVR requirement for the U1.

Buses to Truro College from September 2021 - Bus times: Cornwall

We’ve made some changes to the routes and times of buses to and from Truro College. Please check the new routes and timetables carefully. On our busier routes, we’ll be running duplicate buses where required, and many have buses running throughout the day.

Just to double check, are all normal tickets valid on the college buses...i.e. First Day and Ride Cornwall?

Do not try and use these buses for the first 3 weeks in September. All students must attend college for the first 3 weeks which means most buses are full and some duplicates may have to run. After that time some spaces become available.

There are no college buses as has already been posted above. A massively improved bus network awaits

I'm not being facetious but which are the massive improvements?

The Newquay to Truro via Perranporth looks like it's enhanced compared to the old Winter frequency. There's also the L1/L3 from Lizard to Truro. What else?
There’s multiple new routes shown on the timetables.
Those travelling from Falmouth/ St Austell /Bodmin and those directions now have a regular direct bus to Treliske Hospital as well as the college.

Thanks - I had noticed the all-day extension of the 27 but didn't know if there were other ones that I'd missed. EDIT: I had noted the provision of lunchtime runs :D - all quite interesting.

Also the 900 from Truro to Padstow. College days only unfortunately but 9.33 from Truro, about four hours in Padstow, back for 4 pm. Good one!
27 and 91 extended from Truro to the college.
Three buses a day (college days) to St Mawes, allowing round trips, although this duplicates TfC.

The diversions and extensions of existing routes mean an incredibly frequent service between Truro railway station and the city centre, which is brilliant for public transport integration.

One box ticked in the council's BSIP (Bus Service Improvement Plan) with no involvement from them. :D

I’m sure if it gets well used the company might consider a non-college day service too. It’s the public's chance to show if any of these have more viability by using them regularly.
