The same applies to anyone who’s ever left the house ever. There’s always risk attached to everything.
How to answer that? All I can think of is that, as you say above, having "left the house", you would not normally be accompanied by countless hordes of football supporters or rave attendees.....or is that what you imply applicable specifically in the "stan" known as Blackburn with Darwen as part of "Ewood Park" syndrome.

Better not leave the house, you might get hit by a meteor.

I spy a vintage car enthusiast here. Ford of Canada originally used the "Meteor" marque from 1949 to 1976 and in those days, those cars were those with large bodywork, so if you were hit by a Meteor, you would really be in trouble, medically-wise....

Might be a shrewd move if the said meteor(ite) is going to land on your house anyway!

(N.B. It's only ever a meteor if it wholly burns up in the atmosphere and doesn't make it to the ground).

Anyhoo, getting back on topic, are a somewhat-peeved Chelsea likely to wipe the floor with Leicester in Tuesday night's Premier League match (and possible Champions League qualification decider) at Stamford Bridge?

Rangers have won their first ever title

Err, what?

Many would consider that because 'The Rangers Football Club plc' went into administration and was liquidated in 2012, the present legal entity which took over the business and assets of the old company from the administrators is a completely new entity and so this season's Scottish Premiership title is necessarily their first.

The old club won 54. The new club won their first top-flight title this season.

What an odd thing to say.

I’m sure all the Rangers fans out on the lash last night were only celebrating because it was their first league title, and wouldn’t have bothered if it was considered to be their 55th.

Maybe just as likely it was because Rangers' 1st / 55th (delete as appropriate) title success prevented cross city rivals Celtic from winning "ten-in-a-row"?!

The celebrations would have been a bit more low-key if it wasn’t a title that stopped Celtic’s 10 in a row though.

Not certain which I would want. Sutton means another London club!
National League

Stockport County 2 ... Torquay United 2

This was a crunch match played today and with 40 games now played, Sutton United are top, three points clear and a better goal difference than that of Torquay United who have now only drawn their last two matches.

This result moves Stockport County up to third place over Hartlepool United with level points but a better goal difference

Premier League

West Bromwich Albion 1 ... Liverpool 2

Liverpool's special "secret striker" pops up to head the winner right at the end of the game.

Who could have predicted after losing 6 home games on the bounce they would be in with a fighting chance of the champions league.

Guess it helps that they got knocked out of all the cups to reduce the number of games they have to play. Klopp is a genius.

Everton 0 ... Sheffield Utd 1

In terms of European qualification this result definitively eliminates Everton from possible Champions League football next season and also guarantees European qualification for Chelsea as they cannot now finish lower than 7th. Next possible decision day is Tuesday and Chelsea v Leicester.

Barcelona Women absolutely destroyed Chelsea Women in the Champions League Final. An own goal after about 30 seconds was merely the start with Barcelona 4-0 up by half time. Chelsea gained more composure in the second half but were unable to find a way through and it finished 4-0.
Barcelona become the first Spanish club to lift the trophy.

Has a goalkeeper ever scored a goal like that before ? - I can't ever recollect such an incidence.
Goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel also scored from a header (from a corner) for Manchester United v Rotor Volvograd in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup competition.

Most goalkeepers are big lads and used to crosses.

That result should put those xenophobic "football pundits" well and truly in their place.

Manchester United look like finishing the season as they started it, with successive home defeats.
They have a chance of making it three home defeats in a row tonight. Normally, when rearranged fixtures see a top two club in the Premier League have a run of home matches, one after the other, they normally would expect to get three points per game.
EDIT : Damn it, they drew 1-1. So one point out of a possible nine.

And it came to pass (as they say in the Bible)....

Chelsea 2 ... Leicester City 1

Quite an important point in the scheme of things as it assures them of a second place finish which means (inter alia) an extra £2mln "merit payment" banked. Works out as £36mln for 2nd, £34mln for 3rd, £32mln for 4th, and so on.

Agreed, but not many would assume that they would only get one point from three consecutive home matches.

Not so far remarked is that Tuesday's revenge win by Chelsea over Leicester means that neither Tottenham nor West Ham can now make it into the Champions League. However the rest of the Euro places are very much up for grabs with everyone down to Arsenal still in the running at least mathematically. Doubtless Wednesday's results will create further eliminations.

The Champions League places are now effectively settled, with Leicester drawing the short straw. The qualifying teams from England will almost certainly be from among those who recently attempted to form a breakaway European super league.

That assumes that Burnley are bound to lose to Liverpool despite having an ok record against them and the benefit of some real life home support. Given the number of unexpected results we've seen this season I wouldn't be counting any chickens just yet!
