WEST Bromwich? ;)

Correct :D

Europe's largest supermarket in 1971 was the West Brom branch of Tesco.
The Jensen Interceptor was built there.
It's also the birthplace of Robert Plant, Phil Lynott and a couple of members of Judas Priest.

A prominent suburb of a major city, this town shares its name with a very famous person in the world of music. It shares its station with a much smaller area.

Touche...

Assuming that means yes then here's an easy one

This town is famous for sports cars (another one yes - seem to be oodles of them)

And for water.

Correct - I knew it would be too easy

Led Zeppelin is an unaerodynamic airship.

Onto a Town, then: This (topically) once had an Abbey (now demolished) that contained what was believed to be a, or perhaps one of several, heads of Saint Valentine.

Okey-doke then. Try this:

75 years ago this large town was but a small village. A far larger settlement existed to the east, and to the west, and to a lesser extent to the south. Then came the New Town Act - and the roles were reversed as the village expanded to engulf the other three. One of the town's nicknames was inspired by a prominent city in Nevada.

Well, yes. Try this one.

This town has a statue of a famous king on its market place, and a park nearby, with a stream running through it, named after a prominent poet. Both the king and the poet had some connection with the town. Sometime between the life of the king and the life of the poet the town was a notorious centre of criminality, and a got a nickname that reflected that.

Wantage - the King being Alfred, born there, and the poet Betjeman lived there.
