Unusual to have RTT times only on the day of the run. Wonder why the severe delay and not even being shown as VST.
It’s down to Network Rail being really short of staff due to various COVID things, they are really struggling to keep up to day to day stuff at the moment. Feel really sorry for the guys that are doing their best at MK.

Great to see the 50s and also the full grey-blue set roll through south London on the return leg.

Shame about Riviera yet again sending their air-con set out which was not fit for purpose. The air-con failed in coaches A&C.

Tour operators need to threaten not to pay Riviera if they keep offering sub-standard coaches.

It doesn't work for the most part (the gentleman's club mentality in that industry is rife)! You can occasionally not pay them for the stock if the TOC monumentally screws the job up though (although some of them trying charging Riv etc still for failing to reach the contracted destinations due to their mismanagement and slag promoters off for not coughing up). But that's because they play the middle man. You do also get to listen to claims from the main man about it being the worst day of his life that his stock wasn't paid for (and actually expect sympathy) - utterly professional, of course. The hire charges are somewhat more than several years ago though. You could buy a decent car for much less than a day's hire now. When the trains were much cheaper to travel on and the bashers were a tad younger there was a little more tolerance. And at least sticking your head out a little, with the bonus of cooling down, was still unofficially tolerated.
