Just had a look at some photos I took when there at the end of December last year and all the locos I saw were chimney facing Oxenhope. I don't think that they have a turntable but I may be wrong.

There is a turntable near to the Keighley end of the KWVR line, but don't think it's ever used to turn steam locos around, instead normal practice is for locos to run around their carriages at either end of the line. And, yes, invariably it's a tender first operation downhill to Keighley, normal direction when working uphill towards Oxenhope.

They have a turntable at Keighley, but maybe not long enough to turn the largest locos.

There are a couple of sidings further up the hill or at Ingrow where the wagons can be put out of the way.

Bahamas needs turning if it’s going to work a northbound charter although that can also be done at Shipley.

46100 is definitely facing uphill (aka in the Down direction, just to confuse visitors :) ) as are the in-house locos and indeed 7714.
Nothing bigger than the L&Y 0-6-0 will fit on the table anyway.

Average incline on the KWVR is something like 1 in 70, maybe as much as 1 in 56 in a couple of locations.

I see that the KWVR Diesel Gala is next weekend with the following guest locos scheduled to appear:

33012
33202
A DRS Class 68
50026
A Freightliner Class 70

This is in addition to the home fleet of:

20031
37075

And a number of shunters.

Further details can be found here: https://kwvr.co.uk/event/diesel-gala/2022-06-10/

If anyone becomes aware of which 68 and 70 are to be run I would be grateful to know.

For anyone wanting to get the 70, it is only due to work on the Sunday.

The KWVR twitter feed might tell us the identities of the guests.

There's currently a 68 stabled in the Parcels Sidings at York. I wonder if that might be the visitor?

It’s 68018 at York.

I’m told the 68 for the KWVR is coming from Kingmoor.

Sorry, no. Just seeing it on the webcam.

68018, which should be a low passenger mileage one. It's booked to work to Toton on Tuesday but then to come back to York. Nothing else shown after that for either York or Keighley, but given it'll be an STP bid that's not surprising.

I found this path on Real Time Trains...

0Z22 1410 Dereham U.K.F. to Keighley & Wvlr
Departing on 7th June 2022

That'll be the preserved guests, the other 33 and 50 look like they're picking up 33202 en-route.

Last time I was at the line the steam loco got trapped on the turntable. As it moved onto the turntable one rail on the turntable moved slightly and fouled the exit track. Diesel had to take over for the rest of the day

I couldn’t seem to find the Toton working on RTT, are you able to shed any light on that please?

Looks like it’s 68001 pencilled in for Keighley according to KWVR social media.

I was at Haworth yesterday, and say 50026 and D6515 on shed waiting for the Gala.

The latter also took a pair of coaches down to Keighley later and left them there, returning light engine. They'll apparently be used for a shuttle between there and Ingrow West during the Gala.
