Finally some movement on the new stop.

The proposed transport scheme will link Magna Science & Adventure Centre to the Tram Train network, to improve Tram Train and tram connectivity, access to employment, walking and cycling opportunities, air quality and congestion.

I think the main issue with the original proposal was that they didn’t want people using a foot crossing on a heavy rail line, but with the footbridge and lifts this idea should hopefully get through.

Good idea to not having a foot crossing, especially with all the freight going that way recently.

Wouldn't bother with one, not worth it with all the time the service is suspended. Would be a waste of money !

To be fair most of the time that is down to Network Rail infrastructure. Seems to have been a few floods around there and yesterday the line was closed all day due to signal failure as a result of a lineside cable fire. These issues affect Northern and Freightliner too, not just the Tram Train.

It is probably worth noting that the bus service on the same corridor can be unreliable at times as a result of traffic congestion that the train train bypasses and I suspect that traffic is an issue much more frequently than railway closures!
