Well, if you want albums, you could have Keynsham, by the Bonzo Dog Band, although only since 1974. I don’t know where it got in the charts.
It didn’t get in the Top 40. They had a No. 40 and a No. 36 with their albums, but not Keynsham

OK let's see where we are. A reminder that the aim was to find 30 stations mentioned in UK Top 40 hits - either title or artist - but this could be widened to Top 75 hits or album tracks if we can't find 30.

So we have

Waterloo (Abba or Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks, counts as one)
Ladbroke Grove (had to check, but yes)
Finchley Central
Bury
a Friend (had to check that one, but yes, looks like it)
Warwick Avenue (or Dionne Warwick)
Baker Street
New York (featured in the titles of many, many songs)
London Bridge
Winchester
Cathedral
Day Trip to Bangor
Durham
Town
Hersham Boys
Victoria
Starcross
ed
Ash
Nelson
Mandela
Angel of Harlem (many others available)
Rochdale Cowboy
The Battle of New Orleans (another I had to check)
Like a Rolling Stone
Gimme Hope Jo'anna
White Man In Hammersmith Palais
More Than A Feeling - Boston
Sexual Healing (had to check the station!)
Sandy
Wool
y Bully
Ain't No Mountain High Enough
The Dean And I
Sha-La-La-La-Lee
John Leyton
Dolly Parton, or Parklife
Dolly Parton
The Only Living Boy in New Cross
Belinda Carlisle
Into The Valley
Eric Clapton
Alma Cogan (had to check station, again)

That's 37, so the target of 30 has been reached, but no reason not to carry on now I guess :)

Two more

All Saints (DLR)
Beachboy Gold - Gidea Park (the one I was alluding to yesterday)

The list in #64 is missing Luton Airport by Cats UK

I don’t think trams count, but out of interest:

Halfway to Paradise by Billy Fury (Supertram)
Winchester Cathedral by the New Vaudeville Band (Supertram)
West End Girls by the Pet Shop Boys (Edinburgh)
Chains by Tina Arena (Croydon)
Sale of the Century by Sleeper (Metrolink)
Airport by The Motors (Metro)
Jarrow Song by Alan Price (Metro)
All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix (Blackpool)

Did the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band enjoy chart success?

Up the creek
One relatively recent closure (1995, after the record’s release): Eye Level (Theme from the TV series ‘Van der Valk’) by The Simon Park Orchestra.

Madness made a song called Primrose Hill while the station was still open, but it was an obscure album track, so I suspect you won't let me have that one...

Jesus is a Rochdale Girl - Elbow

Rochdale is already there; remember the quiz is to find stations - rather than songs. So once one Rochdale has been found, for example, no others are necessary.

Sadly not ;)
The idea was to move to album tracks if we couldn't find 30 top 40 singles.

I think trams can count, and metros more generally (i.e. Tyne and Wear Metro) certainly do.
So yes, all these would count. (+8 = 47, sorry 48, forgot Luton Airport, I got a bit confused as I was thinking too much of Luton Airport Parkway!)

Hmmm.. difficult one. I guess I'll have to say not, as it's not currently open. I'm slightly biased to say yes as I was using railways in the era of Park station - but to be objective I'll have to say no.

I remember you - Frank Ifield

That's the way God planned it - Billy Preston

Yes, +2 = 50

A curious fact is that three acts with the surname 'Preston' had hits between 1960 and 1980. Since then, not one has.

Unless you count Preston from the Ordinary Boys
