National Express coaches are now all permanently set up in wheelchair mode, a memo came out the other day. It's to make like easier for drivers. Book time to rearrange the seats was 15 minutes but that was on a brand new coach with no siezed bolts or dirt etc.

Makes sense all round. Easier for drivers, greater confidence of travel availability for wheelchair users, no delays for other passengers (if the 15 minutes re-arrange was en-route). Slight reduction in coach capacity presumably.

One seat reduction in capacity. We were supposed to rearrange the seats before leaving the depot before if we had a wheelchair booked on to save time en route.

Little bit of a shame as those seats give a great view.

I understand the reasoning but still a little shame. Quite a few of the drivers have that black screen down so you can't see ahead.

Interestingly I traveled on two NX coaches on Monday where the front seats were not in wheelchair mode.
