Can't embed the videos here directly, but over on my Twitter stream I have shared a few videos of SJ Nord's night train #71, from Bodø to Trondheim, as it passed through Fauske a few nights ago. I was on a road trip through the area and made a point to see the daily night train roll through.

My phone didn't do justice to the volume of the Di4 diesel locomotive. As it departed, the driver gave me a nod, and I noticed he was wearing over-the-ear defenders, presumably to deal with the unacceptably loud working environment in his cab.

Up the creek
I see that the train is formed with the corridor on the sleepers on opposite sides. Those on the Bergen trains (to be seen by insomniacs on the Finse webcamera) always seem to be formed with all the coaches having the corridor on the same side, although which side that is can vary.

I caught that many, many years ago. No beds left, had to do the seats! Decidedly uncomfortable.
