The other half of 144008 (55808) is now at Fagley Primary School in Bradford for conversion into a STEM lab. The school was one of the three winners of the DfT’s Transform A Pacer competition
What a great idea - housing a science, technology, engineering and maths lab in a carriage designed 40+ years ago, that was hardly cutting-edge in its day - the guiding mantra being make it as cheap as possible.

There was an article on it on Look North at lunchtime. The seats are stripped out and household plug sockets fitted. BSI couplings removed but cab fittings still in place. Great use for something that would otherwise be scrapped.

Does anyone know why 142047 is still stored tab Gasgoigne Wood? I would have thought if it was going to be scrapped, it would have departed a long time ago so as not to incur storage costs. So that begs the question, has it been sold, and the new owner just hasn’t collected it yet?

It seemed to spend months sat tucked away at the very back, but today it is sat on the first line beyond the fence

Anyone know which ones? Might have a trip down to Tamworth for one last look at the beauties
Will be 142065 + 142068 + 142070 heading down to Newport for disposal. The seats have been taken out of the sets for use on 144020 at the Wensleydale Railway as well as 143608 when it arrives at the railway hopefully next month

I notice the convoy is dropping down the Lickey Incline between 15.19 and 15.22 - have there been previous convoys on that stretch?
Previous Pacer scrap moves to Newport have gone down the Lickey

142068 + 142070 + 142065 have arrived at their final resting place. Won’t be surprised if they’re reduced to pieces by the end of the day!

142095 also making its last journey today, going by road from Heaton to Booths Rotherham.

Don't think the Wikipedia 142 page is up-to-date: how many 142s will be gone including (disposal of) today's movements?

So the only stored 142s without confirmed futures are those stored at Eastleigh (142003/007/014/032/056/089) and the Wensleydale Railway (142078/087/090/094), plus 142047 at Gasgoigne and 142004/071 at Heaton. Hopefully their futures will be revealed in due course.

Update:
According to the Pacer Rail Group FB page, 142071 is also due to go for scrap to Booths
