080 (55730 yesterday, 55776 today)
077 (55727 today, 55773 will go first thing tomorrow.

081 scheduled for tomorrow (both cars)
085 Thursday (both cars)

That makes 14 out of 15 units.

142 006 won't be going to Sims ;)

142006 will be the only ex TFW 142 unit being saved for Preservation however we do not know who brought the unit yet.

Has someone or something saved 006?

They did indeed. The last vehicle of 142 085 (55735) left Landore at 15:00 today. The last of the 14 ex TfW units that have gone for scrap. 142 006 is still at Landore and has been sold to a new owner. It's not for me to divulge who that is.

Can anyone tell me whether 142086 is still at Canton for spares or has it been disposed of?

For those who want to keep records, these are the dates the ex TfW Class 142's left Landore and went to Sims at Newport.

Having despatched the Angel trains/ex TfW Class 142s, it's now the turn of the Porterbrook/ex GWR Class 143's.

Disposal started yesterday and will continue for the next couple of days. 143 disposal.jpg

Using a different haulier this time.

Second half of 143611 has gone to Newport for disposal. Looks as if they wasted no time in dismantling 620 at Newport.

Update - pics have been uploaded onto the Pacer Rail Group on Fb showing the second half of 143611 dumped at Sims Newport. Will warn ya, it shows the other half and 620 in ruins!

142 006 left Landore today for its new home at the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr railway. The only one of the former TfW Class 142's to be saved. They plan to repaint it into Valley Lines livery.

Am I right in interpreting the information on that link to be saying that at the present time, no class 144 vehicles have yet had a terminal encounter with a crusher or gas-axe?
That's correct. As of yet no 144 vehicle has been cut up.

Thanks. I'll wager a pint on the prototype Evo Pacer (144012) being the first to go, unless Vintage Trains take the DMSL car so they can offer accessibility on any charters. Other than that aspect it probably won't appeal to preservationists due to being non-standard, and my understanding is that the PRM modifications weren't the most reliable.

It was also fairly uncomfortable to travel on. The new seats added extra legroom which was great compared to the bulky seats they had replaced but there was little to no padding.

Glad to see the back of it.

Does anyone know why 142047 is still stored tab Gasgoigne Wood? I would have thought if it was going to be scrapped, it would have departed a long time ago so as not to incur storage costs. So that begs the question, has it been sold, and the new owner just hasn’t collected it yet?

Car 55808 from 144008 has travelled by road from Worksop to a school in Yorkshire so that is both parts of 008 in their new surroundings

It has been sold, I heard it has been sold to the owner of the site at Gasgoigne Wood. Would make sense as to why it’s still on site.

The other half of 144008 (55808) is now at Fagley Primary School in Bradford for conversion into a STEM lab. The school was one of the three winners of the DfT’s Transform A Pacer competition
