9J30 was stationary for best part of 2 1/2hrs between New Barnet and Hadley Wood on UM but now on the move. Not sure if it was just unfortunate timing or is implicated
That was unrelated. Not sure if it's linked, 91111 was removed from service this morning at Leeds with pantograph damage immediately after arriving from Kings Cross.
The grid is struggling recently. Very little wind has left them short of generatiing capacity. The wholesale price of electricity is sky high. And we are burning coal to make 1.21Gw of power. And open cycle gas turbine, which is inefficient, and usually only called on when struggling in winter. Maybe the voltage/frequency is getting unstable?

Maybe we need to employ some DeLoreans to boost the power...The grid is struggling recently. Very little wind has left them short of generatiing capacity. The wholesale price of electricity is sky high. And we are burning coal to make 1.21Gw of power.
Apart from Ratcliffe that has had an increase in workings of coal from Immingham is there any other power stations that could be switched on at short notice? The grid is struggling recently. West Burton Coal is being called into action as well but NG can call on plenty of units this time of the year and even resort to demand side reduction from industrial consumers that turn down power demand and get paid to do so. It also has 100's of diesel peakers scattered all over the country that can be fired up if its really desperate. The power issues earlier are not related to the grid outage of a couple of years ago this was a NR infrastructure failure.Apart from Ratcliffe that has had an increase in workings of coal from Immingham is there any other power stations that could be switched on at short notice?

seems to be limited to 0.99GW now as from about 2300 yesterday 15/9/21. So thats about 1.5GW input lost.Interestingly the substation at Sellinge where the power feed from France joins the national grid had a fire there today. Initial reports suggest the feed will be out of action until well into october
National Grid was forced to evacuate staff from the site of the IFA high-voltage power cable, which brings electricity from France to a converter station in Kent, where 12 fire engines attended the blaze in the early hours of Wednesday morning. https://www.theguardian.com/busines...ortant-power-cables-in-midst-of-supply-crunchInterestingly the substation at Sellinge where the power feed from France joins the national grid had a fire there today. IFA1 is off line so its 2 GW lost what left is IFA2 which is different. 1GW was off line for mtce the other 1GW will be offline for a month apparently. The coal boys are picking up the slack so they better be onto the FOCs to get more coal hauled in its going to be a busy winter.seems to be limited to 0.99GW now as from about 2300 yesterday 15/9/21. Any more info on what actually was the cause anyone please?
explains why they could keep the slows open and rectify it neatly separatedOLE issue in Barnet Tunnel.
