The following interview with LNER’s F&B buyer has been posted on the Innoveat Instagram feed:

There are some suggestions as to what LNER plans for the future, as well as some insights into the current offerings and what’s gone before.

The idea of the interview was for potential suppliers to ask questions of the buyer.

Very interesting, thank you for posting. I thought that their logistics contractor (DHL?) handled all of the food & beverage purchasing.

No. That's not how it works at all.
Some Train Operating Companies use logistical contractors, such as DHL and Rail Gourmet. They rent catering bases out at stations and are responsible for the logistics of supplying the food. Not all companies do this, so you may be right. CrossCountry for example, have their own catering service centres. It looks as though the same goes for LNER.

I'm very much aware how it works thank you. RG only act as the logistics partner. They order in, store and deliver the products. LNER Head office select the range and products they wish to retail. The same goes for every other TOC.
