In association with Fetch Publicity, RailUK Forums are giving away four copies of the DVD to celebrate it's launch. We are offering you all another chance to win a copy of Great British Railway Journeys series three on DVD if you can win the "Quiz Olympiad."

The Olympiad

Time to get your thinking caps on...

The Quiz Olympiad consists of 7 rounds and brings together some of RailUK Forum's most popular games, past and present, into one marathon of a quiz. Quizzes include elements of "The Next Station Is..."; "Guess the UK train class"; and even "Station Association." This will allow different members to play to their strengths, and for those who think they truly know everything, I have thrown in a brand new quiz to test you all! The aim is to accumulate points over the various stages by answering correctly; with the highest scorer over the duration of the quiz the winner (who will also receive a copy of the new DVD).

Rules for each game will be roughly the same as the original quiz, with explanations on how to play as each round arises.

Answers will not be accepted for previous rounds once the next one has commenced. Entries for rounds must be submitted by 1800 the following day.

Round 7 has now commenced.

Round 1 - Where am I?
This is a completely new game created for this quiz. There will be a number of small sections of map that surround a station. The aim is simple, to guess which station it is. This round will involve NR stations only. 1 correct answer = 1 point.

Round 2 - Guess the UK train class

In this round you must guess the train class featured in the picture. 1 correct answer = 1 point. Bonus points available if you can also identify correctly the TOC livery it is in (where applicable).

Apologies for the way the attachments have been uploaded (1,2,4 have separated themselves from the others) - this is to do with the forum layout - the attachments are all named though

Same guidelines as previous round apply - PM me your answers.

You'll also gain nothing if you withdraw <D

May I ask what livery that 153 is please? The whole thing was a toss up between a 153 and 155, previously a 158 (before I came to my senses that 158's have a skirt :P)

I'll post the first station then to give everyone some inspiration:
Newcraighall (yes, really).

So presumably has to be Edinburgh Waverley.

Can we have more than one going at once - what if all 10 aren't done by tomorrow night?

More than one leg at once just wouldn't work. We'll stop at 1800 regardless of where in a leg things are - whether we're short of 10 legs or have used them all up.

A couple of conventions to help everyone:
 • Using bold tags around station names helps keep things clear
 • DO NOT edit your posts if you make a mistake, just strike it through using strikethrough [S][/S] tags and repost a new answer if you like.

Good luck.

Ok. I'm really glad that my nice friendly not-really-using-it-anymore destination station is one of the starting ones for this. It's just a shame that it doesn't look like its going to be getting used :(
