Another idea for a quiz/game: This game involves travelling around the country on the railways, only catch is that a different type of rolling stock must be used on each leg of the journey.

Rules:
  1. For each journey, a different type of rolling stock must be used (no sub-classes*). However a class can be re-used once another class has been previously (eg. Station a - class X - Station b - class Y - Station c - class X - Station d).
  2. Freight and passenger operations are permitted.
  3. Stations within the NR and LUL network are permitted (no Northern Ireland)
  4. Other forms of light rail/metro are allowed.
  5. Heritage railways allowed.
  6. Jumps between station groups are allowed only if they do not have a direct passenger service between them (eg. I may 'jump' between Birmingham New St. and Snow Hill as there are no direct trains between them but I cannot jump between Snow Hill and Moor St. as there are direct passenger services.
  7. Please keep all links to current services (ie no Class 76s across the Woodhead).
  8. Any posts that do not comply to these rules will be ignored and we will return to the newest valid post.
*Easement to rule 1: if you accidentally end up at a terminus station with no other choice of rolling stock than the one you have just used, then if applicable then you may be able to use a different sub-class of the same class. If this cannot be done then you must return to the previous station.

Rules may be changed at any time.

Let me start:

Starting at Droitwich Spa I will travel on a class 150 unit to Birmingham Moor Street.

To Kings Cross on a 180...

(150, 158, 170, 180) Putting this here will help stop duplication, add to it when you reply with the class you're using, if you can't use any other class then double up the number and put it in bold

To Glasgow (Central!) via Caistars on a 91+Mk4+DVT (Yes I know it sounds pointless)

To Glasgow Central on a class 320.

I've updated the rules to improve clarity.

When the whole idea is not to duplicate a class of rolling stock when we get to page 10, if you're willing to go through all 10 pages and check if it's already been posted each time... Crack on, I'd rather keep the numbers up and together...

Since it appears we're now stuck at Holyhead anyway...

Sorry, but if you read the rules then you will see that just because a class has been used it doesn't mean it can never be used again; I have even given an example for you! I made this game so I know what's right or not: if you could only use a class once then it wouldn't even last a week. ;)

Therefore we may proceed onwards from Holyhead using any class but the one just used (a 175); you could even use the WAG express.

To get things moving again: onto Llandudno Junction on a VT class 221.

How do you continue though when someone goes down a branch line only ever operated by one class?

If this cannot be done then you must return to the previous valid station.
or what Eagle said.
