Is that the laptop which had been in the repair shop for many months but which had a hard drive a month old?

I read somewhere that the hard drive had been copied. Those months also created plenty of opportunity for tampering.

As we saw with the Steele dossier that does not seem to matter theses days in politics. Just enough smoke and depending on the side you are on - there must be a fire somewhere

The difference being that the Steele dossier wasn't, in itself, being quoted as proof of malfeasance. It informed an FBI investigation which did conclude that there was Russian interference in the 2016 election and that the Trump campaign used information obtained from foreign sources. (Something which all of the intelligence agencies agree happened.)
