the new website is awful confusing, i've noticed a couple of services in the dundee/perth area (73/A/B, 75/C and the 202) but I can not tell if they are to do with the Xmas/new year period or not.

THREE brand new coaches have now turned up for Service X24. Three better than none, but someone going to have to buy another three shortly just to get the service up to decent standard across the route.

Noticed a versa in fleet livery on the 87 in Dunfermline. More acquired from somewhere?

Some have been sent up from Manchester and Wales areas. No idea of the numbers. One was also on the 747 ( I can tell because it was in stagecoach colours)

More Passengers left behide on the X51 all the morning runs today, What is it about the current management for not listening? There were warned this will happen, from Drivers, inspectors, passengers... Its always afterwards there have to make act fast to sort it out. The same happened with the Glasgow runs, What is it about running Double deckers ( there plenty with coach seats and Seatbeats), there saying there want money and there people queuing up and being left behide its like someone has a Hyacinth Bucket problem.

We've also got 7 additional tridents from stagecoach West (18017/9/20, 18082/3/6 and 18179) wonder what depot they will end up.

Has 18015 returned from its loan at stagecoach bluebird?

54331/332/333 are the 3 new B11RT Elites for the X24.

I heard the Tridents from Stockport are destined for the Highlands.

This link is about changes to Inverness area, ( to keep in line with the Forum rules, i make this clear Im not on about that if you like to talk about that I suggest you start a new thread)

https://www.stagecoachbus.com/news/...-on-proposed-changes-to-highlands-bus-network

Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director, Stagecoach North Scotland said: “Our analysis has shown that our routes in the Highlands area will benefit from these proposed timetable changes to improve journey reliability, which we know is very important to our customers. It is important we get these changes right and to help us make sure we do, we have issued our proposals and encourage our customers to give their comments. Congestion continues to be a big challenge for us, particularly within Inverness, and trying to allocate sufficient time for each journey has played a big part in this revision.”

SO it seems thats a THIRD person out the door at Stagecoach EAST Scotland,

http://www.stagecoach.com/media/news-releases/2016/2016-08-31.aspx

Bus operator Stagecoach announced today (31 August 2016) that it has appointed two new Managing Directors of its bus operations.

Edward Hodgson, currently Managing Director of megabus.com Europe, will also take on the position of Managing Director, Stagecoach South, from 1 October 2016. This follows the promotion of previous Stagecoach South Managing Director Mike Watson to the position of Regional Director South.

Mark Whitelocks, currently Operations Director, Stagecoach East Scotland, has been appointed Managing Director, Stagecoach North Scotland, effective from 1 October. Current Stagecoach North Scotland Managing Director, Steve Walker, was recently appointed Managing Director, Stagecoach North East.

So I wonder how there going to fill the three roles at Stagecoach East Scotland. Of course is this talk certain people have been on about? Thankful alot of people never know about whitelock since I asked on the 3 oct why he wasn't taking part in " back to the floor" simple answer he left. :p

YES I know don't speculator, but i know there was a proper reason behide it. I never know I was SO out the loop this year on stuff!

Thanks, it must be bad to leave after 4 months!

3 vacancies to fill will be tricky, no doubt there will be more service changes.

I believe minor changes are being made to the X55 in January.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Phil Medlicott and Andrew Jarvis are to be the new MDs in Greater Manchester and Glasgow respectively. They both report to First UK Bus Divisional Director Dave Alexander.

The announcement was not a total surprise as Stagecoach North East had announced Mr Medlicott’s resignation as MD in June.

This was followed in October by the news that Stagecoach East Scotland MD Andrew Jarvis had resigned.

Both left the businesses immediately, suggesting it was likely they were joining a rival after their six-month notice period.

Mr Medlicott takes over the Manchester post on 1 January 2017, and Mr Jarvis becomes Glasgow MD on 18 April 2017.

The move also marks a restructuring of First’s Scottish operations, as Mr Jarvis becomes MD of Glasgow and Scotland. The MD at First Bus’s other Scottish businesses, Aberdeen and Scotland East, will report to Mr Jarvis.

Fiona Kerr, who announced in June that she was joining builders’ merchants Travis Perkins, vacated the First Glasgow MD position in October.

The current First Manchester MD, Teresa Broxton, who has held the post since 2014, is promoted to First UK Bus Director of Business Change.

Says Mr Alexander of the new appointments: “Both have delivered successfully in their roles to and bring with them a wealth of experience, plus a passion and flair for customer service and stakeholder engagement.”

Mr Medlicott had been with Stagecoach for 16 years. He became MD North East in 2012, after previous roles as MD for Stagecoach South East, MD Warwickshire, and Operations Director Stagecoach South.

Mr Jarvis spent three years as Stagecoach East Scotland MD. He was previously MD of Stagecoach Bluebird and Operations Director Stagecoach South.

Postage in the First group thread, it seems that news was common knowledge to a few it seems.

The three new coaches for the X24 are now out in service, yet somehow a 59 plate branded coaches made its way on to the X54s....

Service Change info now online

Fife area

Service 3: Townhill - Dunfermline town centre - Abbeyview - Duloch Park - Pitcorthie - Dunfermline town centre - Townhill

Service 3A: Townhill - Dunfermline town centre - Pitcorthie - Duloch Park - Abbeyview - Dunfermline town centre - Townhill

This service has some minor retiming to the Monday to Friday and Saturday timetables during the daytime to improve reliability. Service 3 journeys between Abbeyview, Duloch Park and Pitcorthie now run up to 2 minutes later, and service 3A journeys between Pitcorthie, Duloch Park and Abbeyview now run up to 2 minutes earlier. There is no change to the evening and Sunday timetables.

Service 8: Dunfermline - Crossford - Cairneyhill - High Valleyfield - Culross

Service 8A: Dunfermline - Crossford - Cairneyhill - High Valleyfield - Kincardine - Alloa

This service has been significantly revised in order to address reliability issues on the route. Service 8A is rerouted to operate via the A985 bypass between High Valleyfield and Kincardine instead of Culross and the low road. A revised timetable is introduced as a result. This means it is no longer possible to travel directly between Culross and Kincardine on this service and a change of bus at High Valleyfield is now required, with through fares available. Fife Council tendered service 28 continues to provide a small number of direct journeys between Culross and Kincardine and we remain in discussions with the Council on how services between these two communities may be improved in the future.

Service 11/11A: Kirkcaldy bus station - Brodick Road - Redcraigs - Fife Central Retail Park

This service has a revised timetable to complement changes to service 12/12A. In addition service 11 will now run between Ferrard Road Aldi and Strathkinnes Road via Dean Road, meaning the Percival Street stops will no longer be served on these journeys.

Service 12/12A: Kirkcaldy bus station - Brodick Road - Birnam Road - Fife Central Retail Park - Chapel

This service has a revised timetable in order to improve reliability. All journeys now serve Fife Central Retail Park in one direction only (Sainsbury’s side), running direct onto Chapel Level and Broom Road after serving Glen Bruar Place. Passengers travelling from the retail park back to Kirkcaldy can board at the Sainsbury’s bus stop and remain on the bus through Glen Bruar Place. It will no longer be possible to travel from Glen Bruar Place into the retail park on this service, however service 15 continues to provide this link.

Service 13/13A/13B: Kirkcaldy - Dysart - West Wemyss

This service has a revised route and timetable to improve reliability. Buses now operate between Dunvegan Avenue and Chapel Community Centre via Wester Bogie Road instead of Broom Road, this area continuing to be served by service 11/11A. As a result the directions along Chapel Road are reversed, stopping opposite the community centre to the retail park and at the community centre from the retail park.

Service 14: Kirkcaldy bus station - Dunnikier Estate - Kirkcaldy bus station

This service has a revised Sunday timetable.

Service 15A: Kirkcaldy bus station - Templehall - Fife Central Retail Park - Chapel

This service has a revised Sunday timetable.

Service 32: Kirkcaldy - Victoria Hospital - Cardenden - Kinglassie - Glenrothes - Bankhead

The 0717 & 0817 Glenrothes to Kirkcaldy journeys now run 5 minutes earlier, at the request of Fife Council.

Service X24: St Andrews - Glenrothes - Halbeath P&R - Kincardine - Glasgow - Braehead - Glasgow Airport

The 0730 Glenrothes to Dunfermline Monday to Friday journey now runs 5 minutes earlier, with an onward connection to Glasgow on service X27 maintained.

Service X27: Leven - Kirkcaldy - Halbeath P&R - Kincardine - Glasgow

The 0610 Dunfermline to Kirkcaldy Monday to Friday journey now departs at 0620 and runs 10 minutes later throughout.

Service X37: Kirkcaldy - Glenrothes - North Glenrothes - ASDA

The 0650 Kirkcaldy to Glenrothes journey has been withdrawn.

Service X54: Dundee - St Andrews - Glenrothes - Halbeath P&R - Ferrytoll P&R - Edinburgh

This service has a small revision to the 1445 Edinburgh to Dundee Monday to Friday journey (1605 from Glenrothes). This journey now runs direct into Dundee bus station from the Tay Road Bridge and no longer serves Dundee rail station and Crichton Street, in order to avoid peak time congestion in the city centre.

Service X55: Perth - Kinross - Kelty - Halbeath P&R - Dunfermline - Ferrytoll P&R - Edinburgh

This service has some minor timetable amendments and stop revisions. On weekdays, southbound journeys to Edinburgh now run 2 minutes earlier until 1700 between Dunfermline and Ferrytoll to give more time through the roadworks around the A90. The 1635 Edinburgh to Perth journey now ends at Dunfermline, replaced by the 1655 Edinburgh to Dunfermline which now runs through to Perth. Also on weekdays, a new 1750 journey from Edinburgh to Dunfermline is introduced. Stops are amended to use Perth Scott Street stop X instead of stop Z; Kelty Primary School instead of Kelty Community Centre; and additional stops have been added at Kelty Cocklaw Street west, St Leonards Church, and King Malcolm Hotel. Services 55 & N55 have a small route change in Inverkeithing to use Hope Street instead of Hill Street.

Service X58/X60: St Andrews - Leven - Kirkcaldy - Ferrytoll P&R - Edinburgh

This service has some minor amendments to the route, stops and weekday timetable. The 0422 Aberhill to Edinburgh X58 journey now departs at 0432 and is retimed along the route, with the arrival time in Edinburgh unchanged. The 0530 Leven to Edinburgh X60 journey now departs at 0540 and is retimed between Leven and Dalgety Bay, with the arrival time in Edinburgh unchanged. The 0535 Cellardyke to Edinburgh X60 journey now runs 5 minutes earlier to Kirkcaldy and runs as route X58 between Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh. The 0640 St Andrews to Edinburgh X60 journey now runs 15 minutes earlier throughout. In the afternoon peak, the 1645 & 1745 Edinburgh to Cellardyke X60 journeys now run as route X58 to Kirkcaldy and then 5 minutes later from Kirkcaldy to Leven and Cellardyke. In Buckhaven, route X58 now observes the Starkies Wood bus stops for Levenmouth Academy, and in Inverkeithing both routes X58 & X60 return to running via Hope Street, instead of Hill Street.

Perth area

Service 16: Perth - Errol - Inchture - Longforgan - Dundee (timetable available soon)

This timetable on this service has been revised. Most journeys now arrive and depart from Perth Mill St Stop E, in order to improve punctuality in Perth City Centre.
Customers wishing to travel to Perth Royal Infirmary (PRI) now need to change buses at Perth Mill St (Services 1 and 2 run up to every 10 minutes between Perth Mill St and PRI). Castle Huntly is now served by certain Monday to Friday and Saturday evening journeys only and the last Sunday journey from Perth to Dundee now terminates at Inchture.

Service 56: Kinross - Milnathort - Bridge of Earn - Perth (timetable available soon)

This Service has revised Monday to Friday and Saturday timetables. On Monday to Fridays, the first southbound journey now departs Perth Scott St at 0842 and continues beyond Kintillo to Kinross, returning from Kinross at 0928.
Southbound departures from Perth Bus Station and northbound departures from Kinross opp Town Hall are now at different times during the main daytime period. There is no change to the Sunday timetable.

Service 70: Inveralmond - Letham - Moncrieffe - Perth city centre - North Muirton

A permanent route change has been made to Service 70. After serving the stop on Glover Street (opp Health Centre), service 70 will operate via Needless Road, Wilson Street and Abbot Street to Priory Place.

Dundee area

Service 75: Dundee - Broughty Ferry - Ethiebeaton Park

An extra 75C journey has been added at 0834 from Dundee High Street to Dundee College (Gardyne campus) on college days.

Service 202: Dundee - Law - Downfield - Kirkton Asda (timetable produced by Dundee City Council)

At the request of Dundee City Council, the route of this service will be amended to use Strathmartine Road in both directions. Northbound journeys to Kirkton will no longer run via Bank Avenue and will observe the stop at the end of East School Road.

Service X54: Dundee - St Andrews - Glenrothes - Halbeath P&R - Ferrytoll P&R - Edinburgh

This service has a small revision to the 1445 Edinburgh to Dundee Monday to Friday journey (1605 from Glenrothes). The changes to No3 seem pointless, How will 2 mins solve buses running 15mins late? There is a mistake I wonder if anyone else will notice it.

No8a will now operate to its original route before someone at fife council suggested it goes via Curloss. Still no idea why No15 still operates to Glen Bruar Place.

I see there have had to reinstated three peak evening buses from Edinburgh, one on the X55 and two on the X59. Dalgerty bay get its full 20mins back for the whole area, while the X56 has been put into the X59 timetable.

Still nothing about that missing X27 early morning journey or other points with Amazon but maybe next time.

They are to trial a new express service between Sunderland and Newcastle utilising those vehicles. We are getting quite a few cast offs from your neck of the woods currently! Clearly the new MD wants to bring as much with him from his former home as possible!

Are the olympians going to be retained at Perth/Blairgowrie from next month or getting replaced?

In Perth I would imagine they'll be kept for the school runs that don't double up as service runs. Perth and Kinross Council don't really impose an age limit on vehicles although I'm sure there is one. Even with the restrictions coming in next month I wouldn't be surprised that Perth will hold back as much as possible before getting rid.

Two more new coaches have turned up, 53813/53814 Volvo B9R Plaxton Elite C49FT Ie just like X58/60. Reason behide that is its claimed one is needed for School contract school contract before PM peak and 15m versions cant do said route. what the other one needed for? Im sure a E300 could be used if needed....

What happens if the duties change? its bad enough already at time on the X59 or even X24!

Accounts are due very shortly so were soon be able to see the real damaged.

I'm not sure about 53814 but 53813 is replacing a B7 so no reduction in capacity. The bus working likely does Express all day apart from the school contract so an E300 would not be preferred. Aberhill does at least one school in the morning which is worked by a B11 before going to Edinburgh.

They could use one on the X55 which is much busier this year compared to last.

This week we have had various B7's, E300's (branded for the Perth 1 & 2) and a Megabus tri axle.
