The profits are certainly something that First could only dream of.

When a new management team is in place will there be a reversal of some cuts, like reinstatement of the 1 in Dunfermline - more houses being built all the time but nowhere to park at rail stations!

New vehicles for the X55 at some point...

I dont think the cuts will get reversed. We might see some new exciting routes.

The problem with Duloch is you either over bus the place of leave parts of the network with nothing. Its kind of shocking how the Paddock/ masterton roundabout ) has been left with nothing. The traffic in the that part of Dunfermline is getting worse. One has to wonder whats going to happen when the new Broomhall or new development next to rennies depot going to be like. At least in Kirkcaldy most of the new houses were next to Chapel level making it easier to run a single route to cover most parts. Mind you Kirkcaldy still has two deveolpments waiting in the wings....

Could brand new coaches for the X55 apppear? That also questionable at the moment

There was 1 new coach for the Perth section (53814) which replaced 53108.

Noticed yesterday that 53717 has been repainted and branded for the X55 Dunfermline - Edinburgh. Sadly the rest is still B7's with various branding

Report in this weeks Dunfermline Press that residents of Candean in Rosyth still not happy that 19 was taken away and replaced with 7. New Ops Director has promised to take another look at the changes made in August 2016.

Im not sure whats going here? Its possible someone has managed to off set the losses from xmas 2015/16 and pushed them in to this current years accounts. At that point it implements the service cuts to off set them?

There can say the service cuts were needed because of a drop revenue, since Operating costs have also dropped. Again its only Fife that had those cuts....

The 2016 accounts cover May 2015 - April 2016 so will include Christmas 2015/16 without any need for fudging.

SO why was such big cuts impermanent? If anyone has wonder where the ex Scania's have gone:

People will be able to travel direct between Sunderland and Newcastle on a new bus service.

Stagecoach says its express X24 service - launching on January 30 - will run every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday between Sunderland’s Fawcett Street and Newcastle’s Pilgrim Street.

There will also be an extra service in the evening catering for commuters, leaving Sunderland at 7.24pm and Newcastle at 8.10pm .

Stagecoach says it is responding to public demand for increased express services between the two cities and is aiming to provide an alternative to the Metro .

Steve Walker, managing director of Stagecoach North East, said: “After listening to our customers, we are delighted to launch this new service to benefit passengers travelling between Sunderland and Newcastle.

“The new X24 service represents a further investment from Stagecoach North East and demonstrates our commitment to delivering more choice, more value for money and more opportunities to travel whether business or pleasure.”

A single trip will cost £2.80 while an all week Tyne and Wear Megarider will set you back £13.35.

Stagecoach is offering a special introductory fare, with a one-week ticket for £5 from January 30 to February 4 and £10 from February 6 to February 11.

I think a lot of damage has been done since the changes were implemented. A lot of people had to go to the train as they could no longer use the bus etc. Article in local paper says they will look at all changes again. There seems to have been too many changes recently, routes changing, service numbers changing which will have driven passengers away!

When was it in the local papers?

Also just two weeks ago there had to reinstate 3 PM peak runs from Edinburgh. Only grace is most of the people who caused the damage are away, bar one, lets hope that one is a good person.

AH so I need to export the CSV to get the full details. I get used to the new system one day. So it seems the new managers do listen.

Presumably they are going to use the E300 again that they have never removed the luggage racks from to operate this every 20 minutes.

Ingliston P&R to presumably allow connections to the Gyle etc without paying the airport surcharge on the tram?

Remember there 747 already stops on the main road next to the park and ride, but by going into the site it will make it easier to connect with other services.

I wonder if we will see any other improvements. Makes a change from cuts...

No7 needs to change, and the no19 needs to go back around Camdean. Improvements is a up hill struggle but i'm hopeful we might see a small improvement overall. Stirling not coming back, thats for sure.

Have they confirmed no return to Stirling?

Why would there? I remember traveling on the route and the numbers were poor, I think the most I ever saw was 5? Some of the early morning runs and peak runs seem to be decent back that was a few years ago. Most passengers got off in Alloa.

Its seems something else was changed back in January but no on mentioned this not even the bus company. A new 05.47 Journey on the No3 was reinstated From Townhill. I wonder why there dont want to tell anyone about that.

I wonder why all the early journeys omit the Lapwing Drive section of the route. Buses in either direction start after 0700. Not much use!

Any word on a new MD?

Noticed an ex highland e300 on the x55 today. Think it was 27912 (sn63 vul). Must be a recent transfer to Dunfermline?

If that has happened, then what was claimed from last year is going to happen after all.

It was claimed E200 were going to Inverness to swap with E300. Lets hope the X55 become Single decker again, while leaving the Perth runs with coaches.

Thats the bus fares going and, I do have to question some of the changes:

X51 day return is now £6.40, yet Ferrytoll/Halbeath - Edinburgh day return Off-peak £5.60 yet Cowdenbeath/Dunfermline - Edinburgh day return Off-peak £6.10 again with the weird things, and dont say its because of the oap bus passes, if you say that you have no idea.

From Monday 27 March, a fares and ticket revision will take place across Fife, Perthshire, Dundee and Angus.

After a 2 year period where most of our fares have remained the same, we’ve now had to revise both single and return fares by around 3%.

Our day returns, multi-journey, dayrider and megarider ticket prices have also been revised and full information on new prices can be found below:

https://www.stagecoachbus.com/servi...rticle?SituationId=ID-27/02/2017-09:39:44:435

Due to low ticket sales within certain areas, the following zone tickets will be withdrawn on 27 March:

Blairgowrie
Brechin
Cupar
Cupar +
Edinburgh
Edinburgh P&R
Falkirk
Forfar
Montrose
Any period tickets for these zones will continue to be valid until their expiry date.

In addition, it will no longer be possible to buy 13 week or 52 week megarider tickets from 27 March. Other longer period tickets (7 and, 4 week and monthly versions of these tickets) will still be available on a StagecoachSmart card and are available to buy online. Any paper tickets already in use for a 13 week or 52 week period will continue to be valid until their expiry date.

Already have a StagecoachSmart card?

Be smart with your card, reuse it! We will soon be introducing a 50p charge for new smart cards issued on the bus, so make sure you keep hold of the one you have. You can top up your card by buying a new ticket from the driver or online. Don't forget to register your card online too for better protection if it gets lost or stolen. It also makes buying your future tickets easier and you can make use of our dedicated StagecoachSmart helpdesk if something goes wrong.

Other Tickets

Flexirider tickets offer 12 adult single journeys for the price of 10, and are available for any journey on Stagecoach in Fife services. 10 journey tickets will be changed to flexirider tickets from 27 March. The ticket must be used within 28 days. Prices are based on the single fare and therefore the cost of a flexirider ticket will increase in line with single fare changes.

Edinburgh 12 journey tickets will also increase in price by £1.

Unirider ticket fares have not been revised and will remain as they are at present. Find out more about the unirider ticket and fares here.
