Ok, got you all on this.
They all had through trains from Ely at some time in the 1980s (granted not all at the same time) but only Liverpool does today.

Nope, not what I was thinking off. (It has happened since 1995 and may still be in operation occasionally today)

Lowestoft is the only station where electric locos have never been in the consist of a passenger service (class 90s are 'dead in tow' when loco hauled summer Saturday services run to Great Yarmouth)

Open floor if I'm right

Anything to do with the class 50 on hire to Anglia in 1999 ? (in which case I'd say Ipswich was the only station which wasn't an end destination)

OK - try this:-

Brighouse, Walsden, Bramley[West Yorkshire], Deighton.

Yes - I hadn't thought of that - but you're right - Brighouse is also served by Grand Central and occasionally by TPE.

My original thinking was that all four stations have been closed and re-opened, but Deighton is the only one to have been re-opened on a different line to the one it was originally on [Deighton was originally on the Kirkburton branch and not the main line].

But I must allow your answer, for it's just as correct.

Over to you.

As gnolife seems to have forgotten about this one, I'll post another, and withdraw it if necessary:-

Llandudno
Huddersfield
Flint
Burnley Manchester Rd

Something to do with the station buildings

You're in the right area, but not the right angle.
Llandudno has a ticket hall of sorts, albeit more like a corridor!

is it that Burnley doesnt have station buildings?
if not, I think Llandudno's buildings surrounding the station are the only ones not in use.

Again, you are hedging round it - try to think of the overall picture.

I don't think Flint or Llandudno have doric columns.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
What I was looking for was that Llandudno, Huddersfield and Burnley Manchester Rd are in the process of being renovated, or will be shortly.
There is no work going on at Flint, nor is there any scheduled AFAIK.

Open floor.
