Are there only ever two on Sundays even under normal circumstances?

The earlier COVID Sunday timetable had 4 diagrams on Liverpool - Scarborough, 2 68s and 2 185s. The updated timetable from a few weekends ago reinstated the Manchester - Redcar services at the expense of the Scarboroughs, so now there are only 3 diagrams, with a lot less content. The two 68 diagrams are timed in such a way that bashing them becomes very difficult on a Sunday.

Thanks for the clarification. I can't remember the last time I used the trains on a Sunday. Maybe once last year but certainly not this year prior to lockdown. They're just too patchy even under normal circumstances.

According to RailCam data, 1E43 16:41 Manchester Victoria - Scarborough (68028) was cancelled at Victoria due to failure - not known whether loco or set. By diagram this should have worked 1P92 19:34 Scarborough - MIA. I would hope TPE will find a 185 from somewhere to run that train. So 68031 and 68034 should finish at Scarborough tonight.

185128 picked up 1E43 from York (split off 1P81 1540 MIA-RCC) and will work 1P92.

68033 is replacing 68023 at Longsight tonight. Will post diagrams once confirmed. Likely 1F48 etc.

Could anyone confirm which locomotive is working which diagram? 1F56 was not 34, could have been 31.

A question asked having not commuted for 5 months now (o_O); is it still hit and miss as to which end the 68 is on? Looking back through the diagrams posted recently it seems to be a mixture of east and west ends. I ask as I fancy heading out to photograph them and a last minute ajustment over a bridge isn't ideal!

It is hit and miss unfortunately. Not much can be done about it either apart from getting the "end gen" on the day.

The "end" issue is that the set coming off Longsight to work 1F48 to Liverpool gets turned each day. (If the loco leads the ECS coming off Longsight, it is trailing when it enters service at Victoria). So if you know what happened yesterday you can predict which way round they are today - but the best bet is to watch this thread for the gen (for which, many thanks).

EDIT:
Thinking about it, the issue lies not with 1F48 but with this diagram:
1F56 0734 SCA - MCV
5H56 1001 MCV - Longsight
5E43 1514 Longsight - MCV
1E43 1631 MCV - SCA

Whereas 5H56 runs via Castlefield, 5E43 runs into the main station at Piccadilly then runs via Philips Park to Victoria - probably a useful route retainer as well as keeping the stock away from the Castlefield corridor in the evening. So that's where / how it gets turned.

Is there any indication of when more diagrams might be run as Mk5 stock- or has training now totally ground to a halt?

Training has now effectively ground to a halt - the problem is still the national one about how to have two people in the cab safely.

If you watch the York rail cam at the right moment you can see which end is the 'front'.

19:34 Scarborough to Manchester Airport is showing full under social distancing on Journey Check but nothing to suggest that it's not a Nova set
Must have been loads going to Scarbados today!

I was on 1F72 1534 Scarborough to Liverpool Lime Street today between York and Leeds and that was around 1/3 full - I even managed to bag my pet seat.
