Class 08's have also had slightly different body shapes created for use on lines with limited clearance.

Class 20s were also built with either route indicator boxes or discs

A class 108 DMU has been used for the royal train due to route availability issues affecting more usual royal train motive power

In case anybody is wondering, the DMU was used on the Cumbrian Coast in 1985, a pair of DRS hauled the royal train to Aberystwyth in 1996

The class 53 (D0280 / D1200 'Falcon') was owned by its manufacturer during its first few years in service before being purchased by British Rail
