Some might be interested in this ... a pacer at Llanharan rugby ground. Anyone with any more information on this?

Standing incongruously in front of the posts is an old diesel multiple-unit train.

It’s been called the ghost train awaiting departure from platform one at Waterton Cross.

As the ground belongs to the police it'll be there to be used by the police for training purposes, alongside the bus that's next to it.

Remember that football hooliganism on trains was a major issue in the 1970s and 1980s, while terrorism is still a threat today.

There's a steam locomotive on display on a plinth in Reykjavik. Iceland currently has no railways, and the only railways that ever existed there were used for construction purposes or freight only.

The 1930's vintage "Brighton Belle" carriage now located adjacent to the Little Mill Inn, near Rowarth, Derbyshire, seems a long way from the nearest railway line.

And a long way from the London to Brighton line!

About 2km from the former Hayfield branch and three from New Mills. It is the only surviving former Brighton Belle car not owned by the 5BEL Trust or VSOE.

Wonder how they ever got it to Rowarth?

Limited access and rather narrow and hilly country lanes in places.

Iceland is certainly not a country you'd associate with railways (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_in_Iceland) but it is presumably the only country where all steam locomotives have been preserved as the other locomotive of the Reykjavík Harbour Railway is preserved at the Icelandic Folk Museum.
