Which railway stations were closest to each other? For the purposes of this I am not including the London Underground. Winestead and Patrington stations on the old Hull to Withernsea line were about half a mile apart but were there any nearer?

Edited to add the stations have to be on the same line.

Newhaven Town and Harbour stations are 26 chains apart (recently closed Newhaven Marine station was only a few hundred yards further away)
Culrain and Invershin in Scotland are 34 chains apart

Others from the past must include
London Blackfriars and Ludgate Hill- the shortest distance anywhere at around a few hundred yards.
Manchester Exchange and Victoria at which a platform joined the two stations.
New Holland Town and New Holland Pier at less than a quarter of a mile.

Bromley North and Sundridge Park are close together. It took only a few minutes to walk between the two.

Asking from genuine ignorance here - did any trains serve both stations? If not, then to some extent they were one station but with two names.

Brightside and Meadowhall in Sheffield should be quite close (about 800m).

I've just thought there is also 3 stations in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, 2 of which are at opposite ends of the pier

There was Welshpool East and Welshpool West for a short time, though this was only a temporary measure whilst the railway was realigned
Glandyfi was very close to Dyfi Junction
Moat Lane was very close to Caersws

How about Macclesfield Hibel Road and Central (457m apart), the former now closed but did any trains stop at both?

Eltham Park and Eltham Well Hall. A ten carriage train would be entering one at the same time as leaving the other.

Trains on the L&Y between Bolton and Leeds via the Calder Valley passed by the north of Exchange station to reach Victoria, while those on the LNWR route from Leeds via Huddersfield to Liverpool passed though Victoria and called at Exchange. In 1929 the LMS combined platform 3 at Manchester Exchange with platform 11 at Manchester Victoria to make a continuous platform of 2235 ft, the longest in Europe. Its benefit was to provide operational flexibility. I'm not aware that any trains called at both unless for operational reasons.

One of the strangest situations involved New Holland Town & New Holland Pier, nominally about 21-22 chains apart, but with a long continuous platform between them, which served also as pedestrian access from New Holland "Town" to the pier, served by ferries to/from Hull.

By the same token Catford and Catford Bridge are around 350 yards from each other.
We have done a 'stations that are geographically close but not easy to travel between' thread, haven't we?
