4002 and 4040 are used for the extra short services and as we are back to an almost full timetable they are required in service.
4001 is complete and is being kept inside of the depot.

Any updates on 4083’s in-house refurbishment? Last I heard all the doors were off and it was painted standard black, with the front end still yellow.

Tyne & Wear metro car 4001 has been wrapped into a special livery for the 40th anniversary of the system.

All 4 unrefurbished metro cars have been out on Peak Services recently.

Please check out the video.

It’s a shame the 40th anniversary and no doubt the exciting plans Nexus have are now as many other things cancelled.

However, it’s nice to see they’ve continued their usual shambolic service with constant daily timetabled cancellations. God help Tyne and Wear commuters going back to work or indeed anyone getting anywhere. 90 minute service gaps, mass cancellations. Blame the pandemic but they were as incompetent pre COVID as they are now.

I do have some sympathy for Nexus in this regard - the trains are genuinely, properly knackered and COVID has severely damaged driver training.
