Did a set get delivered to Tyseley just before Christmas? Understand road transport was booked to move a two-car.

May/June is what I've seen!Seeing as the first 170s have moved to EMR, I’m guessing the 196s will enter service soon?
No, it's because there isn't enough room to keep them all at Tyseley yet.Ready for the reopening of Stafford - Wellington...?

From what I’ve read on Facebook, I believe so yes!A GBRF driver tweeted 2 weeks ago that they would be doing some of the testing for the 196s. I presume driving to date has been done WMT instructers/driver managers?https://mobile.twitter.com/colasgrid/status/1350119648872853507
170s from WMR?Seeing as the first 170s have moved to EMR, I’m guessing the 196s will enter service soon?
Yes, 170 530 transferred earlier this week from WMR to EMR170s from WMR?
ThanksYes, 170 530 transferred earlier this week from WMR to EMR
Yeah.... one of the 170 sets on the Hereford line is now a 172/3. Most services have very little passengers currently so it’s not a major problem, but as you say, when schools reopen in March (if they do in March) then it could start to cause a few problems with social distancing. Thanks
Blimey.
First they took the middle carriage out the three cars, now they're losing two cars. Surely not going to be good for capacity during the period when restrictions are released but precautions are still required. (Which will most likely be before the 196s are in service)
170531 has also come off-lease to EMR - currently in Crewe for a repaint. My guess was it’s signalling the 196s are close to authorisation for passenger use.Yes, 170 530 transferred earlier this week from WMR to EMR

172338 Worked the same diagram all last week, and 172331 is doing the same this week.Yeah.... one of the 170 sets on the Hereford line is now a 172/3. Yes I believe the new sidings are just being finished off and then they’ll move some down to Worcester for storage and crew training!Rumour has it that 196s could soon be stored in the new sidings behind Worcester Shrub Hill, while waiting to be accepted for traffic.
Also for the past few weeks a night path has existed from Tyseley to Hereford and back, waiting around 10 minutes at each station on the route, however this has yet to run.

Plus the Nuneaton-Leamington Spa service is not running (replaced by a bus) so that's two trains less not required.Yeah.... one of the 170 sets on the Hereford line is now a 172/3. Here's an example of the path from last week, as you can see it stops at some stations for some time, for gauging, familiarisation etc.?

Paths are to check stopping points for various train lengths. Will be rescheduled at a future dates. 196’s should resume testing in the next week or so. Have been problems with the software which CAF needed to resolve. Here's an example of the path from last week, as you can see it stops at some stations for some time, for gauging, familiarisation etc.?

Are these sidings replacements for the old ones that used to sit behind the wall of platform 2 at Shrub Hill (in the old yard)?Yes I believe the new sidings are just being finished off and then they’ll move some down to Worcester for storage and crew training!
