There's quite a few that have donated parts to other rebuilding or new build projects, and a few that are cosmetically restored or preserved "in Barry condition". It doesn't look as if many of them have actually been scrapped since being bought (some of the "donor engines" have gone), although it could be that some of the very long term restoration projects that have stalled or possibly been abandoned will at some time meet that fate.

Are some ex-Barry locomotives still unrestored? Seems a bit unfair that railways in the UK have too many engines while some on the European mainland have too few
Table here would seem to answer that - see categories 'Unrestored' and 'Under Restoration' - I assume unrestored means no meaningful start has been made on restoration work. Of course it may not be up to date.

The list can be sorted by the 'status' column - which is illuminating
