67016 has been seen with a ‘MK4 plug fitted’ and being dragged to Toton for cosmetic work, so I assume this will get added to the TFW pool.
Not my photo.

Can anyone confirm if 67008 and 67013 are working tomorrow please and, if so, what their anticipated diagrams are?

Many thanks

Excellent. It has also had a couple of other tfw mods such as removal of the buckeye looking at that picture.

Is it expected to be put into a TFW livery?
I'd be very suprised if it didn't come out looking like 67020/022 in black.

67013+HD06 are planned for
05:30 Swansea to Manchester
10:30 Manchester to Cardiff
16:50 Cardiff to Manchester

When it arrives back into Crewe 67013 is planned to come off the rake and 67008 to replace it ready for Sunday.

The only other diagram expected to run on Saturday is
67012+HD03
04:54 Crewe to Cardiff
14:53 Cardiff to Manchester
18:30 Manchester to Cardiff

The diagram starting 06:27 from Manchester will be a unit.
HD02/04/05 all out of use plus HD07 requires an exam over the weekend and HD01 stabled in Holyhead.

Thats a change from Saturday in previous weeks where the 1830 ex Piccadilly is hauled. Perhaps a result of only 2 sets out rather than the usual 3.

The 18:30 is currently part of a 197 diagram at the moment along with the 08:30 from Manchester and 04:35/14:50 from Cardiff on Saturdays.

The diagram tomorrow that will be a unit instead is the 06:27/14:30 ex Manchester and 10:52/18:55 ex Cardiff

HD06 brake problem, diagram lost, 1W59 and 1V54 tomorrow aren't MK4, Standard Only Seating apparently. Also, is there meant to be a set on 1V70 on Sunday? Thanks in advance.

It's actually swapping back this week so the 18:30 is once again booked a Mk4 from tomorrow, swapped with the 16:30 which is now booked a 197.

Not sure what's happening with HD02 its sat loco less for over a week now after it's tyre turn, Still never been used as a 5 car.

Correct, I'm wrong, looked at the wrong week :oops:. Booked 197 on 12:52 from Cardiff/16:30 from Manchester with the Mk4 reverting to 14:49 from Cardiff/18:30 From Manchester

Not sure what the plan now is for tomorrow with HD06 ending up in Crewe not Cardiff. Potentially 2 sets off Crewe and 0 off Cardiff, not totally sure yet.

1V70 in Sun is/was pencilled in for 67008+HD06 after a loco swap Saturday night. Obviously depends how HD06 gets on between now and then.

Thats good news if the 1830 is again a Mk4 tomorrow (pending other events of course) as that's likely my train out of Piccadilly.

In theory should be 67012+HD03 as it stands, pending any swaps.

as said by sd0733, hopefully! HD03 was the most recent set I've been on, all I have to do now is find an Ex-Central set in First Class to complete the full set of all 4 styles, Standard and First in both types. Hope you have a good journey if you get on the set!

Looks as if there'll only be a dismal 1 diagram tomorrow.

67012+HD03 on
04:54 Crewe to Cardiff
14:53 Cardiff to Manchester
18:30 Manchester to Cardiff

Seems likely to be it with HD06 sidelined at Crewe and no sets finishing at Canton tonight.

Correct me if im wrong but apart from Monday have all 4 MK4 diagrams been covered this week? Not including the Swansea starter of course which is booked 197. Quite good progress considering there were several days recently there were 3 of the 4 booked diagrams.

Oh dear. So we have gone from both Swansea services running to neither of them!

One was lost on Tuesday too with HD01 not going out. Don't believe it was a set fault that actually caused that though.

With only 4 sets available for use at the moment its not been too bad though other than tomorrow! Hopefully tomorrow is a blip as its been a long time since only 1 ran.

Thanks for confirming that. I hadnt checked RTT in great detail much this week aside from today.

Yes not too bad this week. And hopefully 197s will cover the missing ones tomorrow rather than 150s!

Unfortunately that hasn't made it out either, failed freight last night saw it back at the depot 3 and a half hours late at 03:15 so no time to get it fuelled and ready for the morning. So 1 became 0.

Hopefully it's able to get swapped In later to get a set to Cardiff for Tomorrow

Hope so. My 1830 from Piccadilly later will be cosy on a 2-car otherwise.

Must be being swapped later from the 2-car then. Fingers crossed.
Now back to 2-car, 197017 1830 ex Man, 101 1630 ex Man.

If HD03 doesn't come out of Crewe today (I suppose it will), will it change diagrams, or are we still waiting for the locomotive swap on HD06?

The list on X (twitter) of no first class services looks rather long today as expected with 10 services listed as not having first class. I feel sorry for any passengers that booked first class tickets and were looking forward to the service as it is excellent. So what do the catering staff/chefs do for the day now there is no first service?

Also seen a few photos/complaints about 2 car services both in the north and south end of the Swansea-Manchester route.

I'm a big fan of the comfort and on board service on the Mk4s. But how long are TFW going to continue with their eyes closed that they just are not a reliable part of the fleet?
Has there actually been a time since their introduction where they have managed a full week with all planned sets in service? The only saving grace is there seems to be more consistency in them being replaced by a 197 rather than 153's.
According to this forum, there's been modifications, reliability improvement programs, lengthening to 5 coaches and various other projects, yet I see no improvement in their reliability.
