Near Doncaster.Where is Arksey level crossing?
Unfortunately most of us mere mortals dont know the name and location of every level crossing in the Country as you obviously do, I mean why else would you just give us a LC name to work from!
Perhaps you could compile a map with all the level crossings named on it.
up the ECML...
Hmm, so in the Down direction then!It was a football special heading from Kings Cross to Newcastle for Chelsea fans, apparently.
I know and I agree, but I still don't get why, by their logic, they don't consider a Voyager in Virgin livery to be a 'Pretendolino' too.I think its because of the livery Yorkie, of course a mark 3 will always be better than a Virgin pee tube!
Although the Fridays Only working did change to Crewe via Birmingham, for a while it was the Preston via Trent Valley service, and ironically that went to Voyager operation, so arguably it was a replacement for a Voyager! Another thing that puts me off the term is because all the 'veg' on youtube were going on about it.Also because it was used as a replacement for the Pendo on the FO job it was a sign of affection I think.
A better sign of affection would be to refer to it as a real train. Also because it was used as a replacement for the Pendo on the FO job it was a sign of affection I think.

I don't get why some people call Mk3s in Virgin livery a "pretendolino"; it's no more pretending to be a Pendolino than a Voyager, surely?
Doesn't 86259 have functional TDM equipment or is there another reason she was on the front of the DVT?
To some extent, yes, but we shouldn't have to search for everything on Google. Some acronyms and tiny place names go a bit far at times. I've also known photographers refer to places that are not unique (e.g. Spittal on the ECML - there's two of them)Or you could just type Arksey level crossing into Google as I did.
It's not a problem really.
That was surely short-lived, as I remember the timetables having an "NP" symbol, which referred to "Not Pendolino", but some said it meant "Not Plastic"... all the departure boards referred to it as "Virgin Pendolino".
More reliable?I wonder why they used 'Les Ross' instead of a 90?

Saw this come and leave on Platform 1 at KGX when I was sitting on the 21:00 NCL on Platform 0.
Apparently there was a 47 at the Cross yesterday was this used to take it to Old Oak Common?

Perhaps you could stay out of a thread if you don't have anything positive or useful to add to it?

Could also be the DVT that is at fault?
